Hello everyone, I´m from Germany, I got that link here sent by a fellow European ferry-enthusiast. So I browsed around here, saw what sort of ships you have got etc. I personally have never been to Canada. I just think, I show you what WE have got here on our lovely continent - I have taken various photos of different European and Scandinavian as well Baltic ferries, as well built some models as you can see. Enjoy www.ferriesofeurope.fotopic.net/

Very nice. Here in BC we have 2 ferries in our fleet from Europe, The Queen of the North (formerly Stena Danica) and the Queen of Chilliwack (formerly Basto 1).

This person isn't online right now, but he has pictures of almost every ferry inside and out. ca.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/prqueenkid16/my_photos (There's pictures of the Queen of Chilliwack {former: Basto} on this site) Karl has pics of the Queen of the North (Former Stena Danica) posted in the BC Ferries section of this site under "Queen of the North Pictures!!!" near the bottom of the first page

Hello chivapcici! You wanted some interior shots of the ferries...well, let's just say they are not the greatest...YET. BC Ferries is updating ships throughout the fleet (such as the "C" Class) and will retire/replace the ones built in the '60s and before. It is one of the oldest fleets in the world, however, they are the second largest operator in the world. Let's start with the nice new interior of the "C" Class. www.bcferries.bc.ca/about/fleet/qoc_promo/ . You're probably thinking it sucks...but remember, it is only an hour and a half crossing, not 15 hours or a day. I will find more in a while...enjoy.

Here's some pictures of the refurbished Queen of Oak Bay ("C" Class): www.pbase.com/kstapleton/queen_of_oak_bay . That excellent Website also has pictures in and out of many other ferries in the fleet. Access is on top.

Thank you very much for these nice links, lots of stuff I have never seen Yes the interior of the BC - ferries is somewhat not what you do find on some of our long-distance ferries, but it looks very much like something I did see on Calais-Dover ferries (1 1/2 hour crossing too) - or at least some of the older ones. But, Seafrance has two new state-of-the-art ferries "Rodin" and "Berlioz" you can see interiors on www.seafrance.com Been on both, and crossing time is way tooo short. Do you ever get rough crossings ? I have not seen one photo yet which shows a BC- ferry in a gale and the most dramatic pic seen is though of the grounded Queen of Oak bay.

Here is one of the Spirit of Vancouver Island in the Strait of Georgia nearing the Southern Gulf Islands: community.webshots.com/photo/56751797/56751797occJwX . It's been known to get rougher than that, but why would you be out taking pictures in that weather?

Quite a different story, we have the Queen of Prince Rupert in the Hecate Strait, the body of water separating the Queen Charlotte Islands from the Mainland, which is a lot more open. Here are the pictures: www.citytel.net/~bleslie/Queen%20of%20Prince%20Rupert.html . The Strait of Georgia has been known to have 120 km/h winds with gusts of up to 180 km/h. Seas have exceeded 10 meters at some times.
