Those things look like profit machines. Not an inch wasted.
Cascade has mentioned here before that the Norwegan's aren't renouned for their ship's styling. They are utilitarian vessels.
The Italians build stylish ships that aren't dependable.

that one is called the St Clare! Go to their site and you can see another ship in their fleet the St Helen sort of the looks like the old Queen of the Islands!

I think they're neat looking, i really like european ferries. This is a very interesting comment... Shane: Some of the European ferries look really cool, I like most of them myself. But some of them, like the Stena Line ship above, are awful looking, not unlike the chiliwack. I hope you can agree with me...

www.faktaomfartyg.com/al_salam_pascoli_96_1971_b_1.htmItalians and design.. this here tells what I think about it.. well yuck ! About functional ferries - I found the BC ferries pretty functional and not too good looking, some of them do look as if they have stuck a part in between them - and as I read about this, I know they did and I am talking about the second cardeck and other parts here. Cutting them in half and put something in between has never made a ship beautiful. The reason why some of ours look like giant boxes - well just imagine the huge STENA box carries 2500 PASSENGERS - in cabins !! Makes a good floating hotel right ? You just need a bit more than few seats and a cafeteria as well on the 15-hour long cruise and you can get lost onbaord as well

That pic chivapcici looks like someone raised the roof a bit. Some of the ferries are not like boxes in Europe, for example the Stena Adventurer. It is nicer than seeing that real box ferry.

That looks like an overly modified version of the Queen of the North ( Obviously former Stena Danica). I actually don't mind the Stena ferries, they look very sharp with their pointy bows, how a ship should look.

nothing wrong with those ferries. but i think the second one looks like a stiff breeze would blow it over.
