i dont know why you would need a crew member? what about the lifesaving system on the Klatawa and kulleet? i cant remember the designer, but they fit with thier chute in square locers at opposite ends of the ship, and they allow either a handicapped or regular Passenger to launch the raft, with no reqirement for any crewmember to be there, and they dont need positioning because they are build with the chute locked in, and 30 - 90 seconds afer inflating, the system is operational with the pax able to load in as little as 15 mins.

We could get Harry to unload the some 100 passengers on the Quinsam - he could try and use the floaty evacuation thingies to try and save it - and then use them on the Mill Bay.

you pull a pin, and and push. and everything inflates automatically, then all you have to do is slide down into the raft. can it be any easier? anywhere from 75 - 175 people per liferaft. that would mean for the coquitlan, you would need 9 to safely evac the ship.
