Nice shots, I'm starting to get homesick. Was the cruise sold out?
The PRQ looks like a rustbucket in your first shots. Not one of the sharpest looking boats in the ocean.

Excellent pictures Karl, as usual. The North sure was worth buying from Europe, the nicest looking ferry there, aside from all the giant boxes now...just kidding.

Nice photos. Wish I could have gone on it.. maybe next year.
There was one instance in this thread of someone pretending to be Mac Write. It's not a chronic problem and it's not a reason to restrict this to members only. A member will almost always be logged when contributing to the forum and therefore won't have "guest" under his/her name.
That said, I don't like people pretending to be someone else on this forum, and the IP address of this person has been recorded for future reference.

Yeah I will go again next year so if anyone wants to go we should plan it for next year. Darn it I wish they had a northbound cruise in the spring. I would do that too. It would be neat to go on the northbound one too.

Karl, how much did it cost in total for a car and one or two people to go on this cruise?

The total cost was 343.00 with no fuel surcharge as we had booked before it had come into effect.
158.00 for two adults and 185.00 for and underheight vehicle

That's quite expensive, and then there's the cost of gas to get up to Port Hardy, and then spend the night at a Hotel, and can't forget the cost of getting to the Island for me. So if I were to do this trip, it would probably cost me about $500, maybe more maybe less. So it will be hard to say if I'll go or not next year as I'll be moved out of my house and going to BCIT by then which is already going to cost me $2,000 a year.

It cost me & my wife approx $730 for the trip:
$343 for Q-North ferry fare $125 x 2 for 2 nights hotels $55 for return ferry from Tsawwassen $25 for gas for 450 km on my fuel efficient Toyota Echo $55 for food for 48 hours away from home
Yeah, that's a lot of cash for 48 hours of trip. Kind of scares me when I add it all up....

Yeah we are lucky enough to have relatives in Vancouver that we can stay with so we dont need to stay another night in a hotel. We spent about $45.00 for gas as we almost ran out gas going up that long stretch from Campbell River to Port Hardy. Probably around $55 also for food or a bit less as we dident have dinner but we went for dinner after we got off. Stopped at Tim Hortons in Campbell River for lunch about $10-15 there. Ferry coming back was around $55 too so probably a bit less than Flugel paid but still it was cool.

It is possible to take the bus up to Port Hardy, but I don't know how much that costs. Probably less than driving and paying for a car on the ferry. But then you have to get from your hotel to the terminal at 6 in the morning, and I don't know how many cabs there are at that time of the day...
