I seen a few cabs in the morning and lots of big busses. But the busses might be for special groups I think. Unless you took the greyline but I dont think they would go to the ferry in the morning.

Looks like an awesome trip, maybe Ill try it next year. Between Jan 01 and 07 2006 Im going to get a 7 day sail pass and ride all the non-Northern Routes; that would be a nice addition to my year!

We could do it as a group. I can't drive, but someone with a van can drive and boom big savings. I and an escort can get on for $40 each.

There is a shuttle bus that goes around to the hotels in Port Hardy. It cost $6.50 per person. We got to the ferry terminal around 6:30am
We didn't have to pay the fuel charge either. Glenn has a disability card for the ferries so the cost for us was..
$39.50 x 2 fare
$60.00 cabin
$50.00 gas
$225 hotels 2 nights (The dump I stayed in Hardy cost more then the coast hotel in Tsawwassen.) The hotel in Tsawwassen was 5 times better!!!
$100 est for food which was terrible.
$44.90 ferry back to island
Looking at the ticket from Tsawwassen to Duke Point I see that we only had to pay the veichle fuel surcharge. I guess that means disabled people and their escort don't have to pay the passenger one.
When I do this cruise again I will definately get a cabin again. It was nice to have a place to store our stuff and to have our own bathroom. We lucked out and got a cabin with a window with a great view of everything behind us.

Yeah I would love to do the northern routes too to Prince Rupert then across to the Queen Charlottes. Even the Chilliwack to Bella Coola would be neat. Hey I just thought of this, you could take the Queen of Chilliwack to Bella Coola, drive from there back up around to Prince Rupert go to the Queen Charlottes, come back then down to Port Hardy. Although that would probably be really expensive doing that. Are we talking about the Positioning Cruise next year on the Queen of the North?? Cause I will definately do it again. I even do the northbound one in the spring if they had it, but they dont have it anymore!

Great photos Karl! I really liked seeing the interior of the North, as there is little opportunity for south coasters to see inside, and because we have precious little time (looking at the bigger picture) before she is retired.

Maybe you should compose lists of what should be photographed on each individual vessel... Unfortunately, some people do not have cameras as eyes and snap photo's every two seconds of their trip... Be thankful that someone was kind enough to post any photo's at all... |

Yeah, that's true. Just like the time on the Queen of Surrey Mac got caught trying to get a photo of a restricted area where they serve the people in the Cafeteria. lol!
