Hey John, on your new West Coast Ferries website, you're missing the Kuper.

Hey John, on your new West Coast Ferries website, you're missing the Kuper. Remember that the website is still in a work in progress, but be patient, I'm sure John will have Kuper Page soon.

What's a "Skeena Oueen"?
Sorry, but that looks nothing like a 'Q' on the banner.

I found the Kuper:) I knew I had done it, I just hadn't updated the menu.

I can't seem to find any active discussion about the links that we post ever since making the leap to the West Coast Ferries Forum branding, etc., but I've found that both links that I've posted in the past as well as http:// links, regarless of this prefix, that I make known today are somehow indiscriminately either made a "quick link" or not. Do you folks notice the same, maybe about links you've posted? I'm just trying to make readable and clickable postings but I can't seem to figure out why some html addresses are made as quick links and some aren't.

I think he's talking about a feature with the version 4.5 upgrade that shortens url links to prevent side-scrolling.

Moderators - I just finished reading the KMM report (as presented in another thread) and I feel that a new thread should be started to discuss the report and its implications. Where would be the appropriate place to put such a topic?

Where would be the appropriate place to put such a topic? I would say the "BC" Ferries board would be the most appropriate at this time.

Since some people do not know about when they receive PMs without notification. Here is how to be notified.
Go to the top of the page just below the header. It will say "Hello [ member name , you have [#] messages
Click on the blue part in order to access your box.
In your box, the menu has to the very right a "message preferences" and click that
Then go to the bottom of that section, you can choose to receive email notification or a pop up notification when you log in to the forum.

I completely agree with the "CR - Here we go" thread being locked, but could one of the mods make it a sticky? I find it is a very valuable reference tool, particularly concerning the design and construction of the Coastals as a class.
Considering the search tool on this forum doesn't pick up a lot of stuff, it would save a lot of diving to read it each time. Also, for the new members and guests who come here searching for information regarding the Coastals, it would make it a lot easier for them to find the information they are searching for.

Not to undermine what Nick requested or anything, but... I'd like to request a Sub-Board for Completed Ferry Construction in the New Ferries Section. So those who would like to find the Documented construction of a past "new vessel" can find it easily. This would apply for the "CR - Here we Go!" Thread and the other threads like it (such as the CI's which should be at the same status point of the CR's construction thread in the next week or so). Much appreciated if approved!

Not to undermine what Nick requested or anything, but... I'd like to request a Sub-Board In general, I don't like sub-boards. I just think they make the forum too complicated for some, and are kind of like the extra space that people forget about and don't always notice. We've got 2 of these already, and I don't always like them......and that's just my personal opinion. I think that we've got few enough new-ship threads, that it will be easy to find them on the main board anyways.....which was one reason for setting up a dedicated-thread for each of the new ships.

Plus the request to sticky them means they stay at the top anyways, right? Not to be a pain in the a**, but this made me notice a couple of housekeeping items, namely other new ship threads that maybe need to be locked as well.

In a couple months I'll put the new-ship threads in their own sub-board in the "Old Posts" section. I don't mind sub-boards there as it's more of an archive.

I know this is REALLY picking at nits ... but could the moderators please assure that the looks of the "in service" threads have a consistent and common look. For example C-Renaissance versus Coastal Inspiration. One or the other should be changed.

These are probably dumb questions showing my ignorance of the workings of this forum.
Having noted all the typsetting and formatting tools avaiable in a response using the quote funtion, how does one use these tools with a simple quick reply?
Or is there another mode other that a quick reply and how would one implement it?

Good morning, Cohocatcher. I'd be happy to help you out with this. There are 3 different ways to responding to a post. You have already noted the Quick Reply, and the Quote functions. The final one is the "Reply" button. The reply button is sort of hidden, when compared to the positioning of the other buttons. If you scroll down to the final post of the thread, take a note of all the buttons on the blue line. On the right side of the blue line, you'll notice the "reply" button. This will lead you to the same spot, the "quote" button will take you, minus the quote of the post you'd quote. If you wanted to use some of those html codes in the "quick reply" area, you'd have to memorize at least the basics. [b][/b] - Bold [i][/i] - Italics [img][/img] - Image tags [url=www.enteryoururlhere]enter title here [/url]
Hopefully this helps! Cheers! PS: you'll have to ignore my mod buttons in that picture, but you'll get the point.

Hopefully this helps! Cheers! I noticed that these "codes" do not work in the subject headings. What I wanted to do was make a proper name in the subject title show up in italics. But thanks again.

So I'm not sure when this might have happened, as I haven't looked at it lately, but the archived section that used to be at the bottom of the main page seems to have gone AWOL. I have a sneaking suspicion that it disappeared with the cosmetic upgrade a few days ago.
Any particular reason? Is there some way we can still access them? That was how I passed the time when I was ridiculously bored - by reading old posts and remarking on how much this forum has improved. Sad, I know. Maybe this will be an improvement.......
