I'm hoping I can get some goods pics of CR at Ogden Point entering the harbour on the Victoria Express. We'll be sailing right by her!

Yeah that would be an awesome view coming in on the Coho or the Victoria Express to see the CR docked at Ogden Point. I hope to get out on the breakwater too for photos depending on what pier she is docked at.

I'd love to make it to the Vancouver open, as it'll be a simple seabus hop away. However, I think I have to be on the Sunshine Coast on Sun Jan 20 so it looks like I'll be touring the Queen of Surrey instead. I'm hopeful to make it over to the Victoria open as I'm in the interior when the Nanaimo one happens. Can't pencil myself in yet, unfortunately.

Changing open houses: Move me to Nanaimo. Earliest boat I'm willing to be on is the 8:30... unless you want an early-morning pissed-off Coulson, which I don't think you want.
Well, let's see... 6 am 340, be on the train by 6:30, being downtown by 7:15, putting me on a 257 Horseshoe Bay Express by 7:30. That gets down into the bay at 8:11, then an 8:30 ferry, then get there at 10 and hop on a 2, which makes my arrival time at Nanaimo Harbour at, what, I guess about 10:15-10:30 ish, after running it through the streets of Nanaimo...
See? Lots of grumpy early morning travelling. So don't blame me if I'm not in a pleasant mood.

Won't be at any of them. Sorry no lurking in the shadows from me this time. I will be at Rettallack Lodge cat skiing with Seth Morrison and Dan Treadway, couple friends of mine from the skiing world.

I have everything crossed that I will be able to make Vancouver this weekend, but I will not know until my Prof. releases my assignment. If it is solo then I will be there, if it is group, that is the time that my group will be meeting.

Just a couple guys I have met over the years, they called me up to say they are in town and were gonna be riding that weekend. Was actually out partying with Tanner Hall last week. They are just regular guys that like to ski.

I guess I'll take the initiative to post a meeting place. Here I've drawn a very amature map of Canada Place. I figure a good area for meeting up, would be on the main observation deck of Canada Place (highlighted in orange), directly parallel to the ships funnel at 11:45am would be the best place to meet up.

Right here on the chart: If you want to input that into your GPS, that's at N 49°17'20.4" W123°06'41.5". For comparison, the Nanaimo open ship staging point will be at N 49°09'56.3" W123°55'54.8".

There is a strong likelyhood that I will be going to this event with my Dad, but later than you are meeting due to prior commitments for both of us.

Anyone know if the Mars is still down there? If I get a chance I might head down there tomorrow to see the ferry close up. I'll likely have to wait until Nanaimo to take the tour though.

I don't know, but I do know she spent the morning water bombing again so at least as of newish she was here. I didn't keep track to see if she always came and went though.... I think today was the last day of the convention? (JUst saw a related news story).
