Engineer,
That makes a lot of sense, as BCFS needs much more capacity for the ROPAX trade than what they have now.
Take out the mid - deck. So how many lane meters will she have ? I was thinking around 700 to 825M, what's your view? I think 800M would give her about 45 to 48 Trucks at current length.

Well, she is the same length as the New West, right?

Yeah, I remember that one trip that she did this year.
Personally, I think the Saanich is by far the best suited of the 3 remaining V-Class for route 30 in terms of passenger accomodation. If it weren't for the interior design of the Saanich being the best suited of any of the V / lifted-B Class for the tourist trade (i.e. route 1), and if there was a need and she could make the speed the route requires, I'd suggest putting the Saanich on route 30, simply because of her lack of passenger accomodation (that I went into detail about earlier) being better suited to a route with high truck traffic and a lack of a transit connection on one side, let alone her retractable gallery deck.

The Saanich came last in terms of hull strength, which is why I'm suprised to see this. BCFS has almost no capital though, I doubt they could even afford to pay for a survey to see if they could afford to do this.

Do you guys know what we are talking about with lane meters?
Weak Hull ?? then no good as a ROPAX vessel.
