Well if they are going to replace the Saanich with the Esquimalt when she retires I would have to say the Esquimalt should be upgraded. The Vancouver could also use an upgrade too.

The Queen of Burnaby probably did but when you try to go up to the top deck a sign on the stairs say CREW ONLY I think the upper deck isn't completed or its the Crews Quarters anybody know about this

because of the chutes on the burnaby her capacity has been reduced to approx. 750 persons on an a liciense. maybe the upper area being closed just helps keep the passengers to certain areas www.saveourferries.com

The main reason the upper deck is closed off is because they would have to carry more crew to supervise it, and the traffic aboard the ship doesn't warrant it.

Yes, all the V class ferries have snack bars which are located midship. On the Queen of Saanich it's not called the snack bar it's called the Mid Ship Cafe. The Snack bar on the Esquimalt and Vancouver are also in the same spot as on the Saanich except there is the mid ship lounge on the Esquimalt and Vancouver where the the Passages Gift Shop is on the Saanich, which are the differences between ships.
I have noticed on the New West and also the Naniamo that the snack bars are located right across from the Cafeteria, where the Gift Shop is located on the Vancouver and Esquimalt. Those are some differences with the V class, and Burnaby class.
The Queen of Saanich also had the Upper Deck Resuarant, where the Buffets used to be on the Van and Esq. Except I dont think they have the upper deck resturant anymore.

I think they only use the buffet on the Esquimalt and Vancouver during busy times. It is the same with the Saanich, When I went on it back in August, there was no food service in the Upper Deck Restaurant, and the ferry wasn't busy, but all the food serving tables and whatnot were set up, as well as the sitting tables.

i don't think the buffets on the v class boats are used at all anymore. they do still have the tables and chairs on the upper deck. this is a nice area to sit and read a paper or a book on your trip. also not many people know this area is there so on a busy sailing if you go straight up there you have a better chance of getting a window seat then on deck 5 in the lounges. www.saveourferries.com

Actually your right. Where is the New West, she should be on there??? I think they should upgrade the v class like the Queen of Saanich. Esquimalt and Vancouver, even New West they should redo like the Saanich. Redo the Nanny, but dont redo the ships to look the same or that would be boring if all the ships were the same. I kina like the old v class like Esquimalt, Vancouver and the Nanny!

You know? The Nanny=Queen of Naniamo as we like to call her on here. More names we have you might not be familiar with The NIP= North Island Princess, SOVI=Spirit of Vancouver Island. Oaky=Queen of Oak Bay, well actually that is what I like to call her. Dont know about other people on here.
Another one I like to call, Cumbie which is the Queen of Cumberland! Cappie, Queen of Capilano!
Anyone else have any goofy funny names they like to call different ships???
