Grand Princess with her 11:45pm departure from Nanaimo. - May 16, 2014, seen from the visiting-vessel float. I like the dolphin-nose of the Princess ships She reverses out of the harbour and then turns after she is past Protection Island's Gallows Point. Her port side is like a broach of glimmering jewels

This is a neat video I found searching cruise ship departures out of Miami Florida. There can be as many as 6 cruise ships deocked in a row in Miami and it's neat to see them all leave around the same time. This video someone took on the Fisher Island ferry of the Carnival Imagination. This ferry went right by the ship and it's crazy how close this ferry gets to these cruise ships. If I was in Miami I would ride this ferry just to see the view of the cruise ships.
This short little clip shows a view from a cruise ship of the Fisher Island Ferry which is pretty cool. Dident know about this ferry. Fisher Island looks to be a resort area??

Zuiderdam, seen from Little River beach, near Comox BC. - 10:00pm on Saturday June 21, 2014 The blue/white twin funnels (which I find quite understated) are part of HAL's signature look. With Powell River in the background North of Powell River Zuiderdam and "one of the Princess ships" are regular Saturday night northbound sights in Georgia Strait, for summer cruising season.

The port of registry is not seen under the large vessel name on her stern. The name and port of registry is located on the lower aft section of the hull.

I took these last night, as the Celebrity Century overtook us just north of Seymour Narrows, heading south. Unfortunately I only have a cheap point and shoot camera with me, so they're not the best quality. I thought they turned out kinda cool though.

The cruise passenger facilities at Ogden Point, being a couple of warehouses that have been given a few make-overs over many years, should be upgraded in order to provide a higher standard of service for passengers as they embark and disembark from these very large new cruise ships. Maybe someone from the Victoria area could answer the question as to whether or not the docking facilities can provide plug-in shore power connections to the ships, so that vessels do not have to run their generators while docked. Port Metro Vancouver installed shore power plug-ins at Canada Place, creating an environment friendly operation. There are considerable fuel cost savings to the vessel operators as well. I'm surprised that Transport Canada or Environment Canada has not made these shore power plug-ins mandatory for all large vessels.

I cruised on the Norwegian Sun in 2009 to Alaska. Glad to see she is back again this year for the Alaska season!

Welcome to the Forum translinkfan! Very cool shots of this Summer's cruise line ships calling at one of the finest passenger terminals anywhere. Your photos provide ship lovers quite the array of vessel sizes, bow and stern design features, funnel styles, etc. The stern designs for example offered up by Celebrity, Princess, Holland America and Disney are but a few that one may find aesthetically pleasing or not. I am not a fan of the very boxy sterns and upper decks of the Celebrity and Princess ships. Placing staterooms, restaurants etc. at the stern of ships may be a fun element for some cruise passengers, I would cast a vote for the elongated, curved outer decks of the Disney ships. Everyone has their own likes and dislikes for many reasons, mine come from a basic love of clean lines bow to stern and decks that offer a wraparound walking deck.I concede that open fore-decks are not a realistic design feature of true ocean liners such as those of the Cunard Line. I'm not a big fan of the mural painted bow sections of the NCL ships as the murals detract from the overall pleasing bow design of their ships, but that's just my old school slant on things. Looking forward to seeing more of your great photos before this year's cruise season wraps up on October 17th.

I do make an effort to go out as much as I can for the cruise season. Helps even more when the coach company I work with sends me on cruise transfers

I love Celebrity I have been on the sister ship to the Millennium or one of her sister ships the Infinity. Beautiful ship. I bet this one beautiful too. I will be cruising out of Vancouver next month on a 16 night cruise to Hawaii then back to LA on the Carnival Miracle. I have only cruise out of Vancouver one other time and that was to Alaska on the NCL Sun. Looking forward to the sail away party and sailing out of Vancouver Harbour is always a treat!

Koastal Karl-I see that yet again a pod failure has plagued the Vista class of vessels. An identical issue to the issue aboard Carnival Miracle has developed on Queen Victoria. They have moved her annual refit from December 2015 to January 2015 in order for repairs to be completed before her world cruise. On that voyage some sectors require a very high speed which is not possible with the bearing issue. Your ship though has done well this summer with no delays since the schedule was adjusted by dropping Ketchikan from the itinerary. I have sailed on 4 of the Vistas, Carnival Spirit and Pride and with Holland on Oosterdam and Zuiderdam. They have a good layout and passenger flow, are long lean and lanky with great sea keeping, and have excellent outdoor decks for soaking up the rays or taking in the sights. Enjoy the voyage!!

The Regatta is not Princess. She is part of Oceania Cruises. Princess has only two small ships the Pacific Princess and the Ocean Princess. The Pacific Princess is the only Princess small ship up here for the Alaska season.

Guess I was told otherwise.

Princess did indeed have 3 of the group of 8 'R' ships. However one of them was transferred over to the P & O division and sails for them as Adonia.

I've noticed in the 2015 Oceana cruise book that there is not a lot of mention as to 20125 itineraries for the Regatta. I wonder if the Regatta is not in Oceana's long-term plans. (Even though the Regatta had a 7 day dry-dock and make-over earlier this summer at Washington Marine in Vancouver.) As a matter of preference, I love the smaller, older ships that don't provide rock climbing walls, basketball courts etc. Why would one want to do rock-climbing at sea when one can do the real thing at home? Old traditionalist here.
