Ha-ha!... just noticed I made a misprint with one of my submissions... Not that it will affect the voting, but I incorrectly labelled the Malaspina as Matanuska. Guess something got cross-wired for me there.

Does anyone know the present whereabouts of the MV Wickersham? Was a classy looking ship to pass and see in Prince Rupert Harbour. The Wickersham always reminded us Queen of Prince Rupert crew at the time, how the QPR 'could' have looked much sleeker and cruise-ship like had she had the original 60 extra feet built into her in the first place. Image the QPR with another 60 feet?

The Wickersham & Queen of the North as sisters? I don't think so. Cousins perhaps.

Sisters are related. Twins are identical. The superstructure has some differences but tmany other features are the same. The very close ferry was the Stena Germanica and I don't know if they were identical. Stena Danica became the Queen of the North and a very similar design. All three were for Stena Line from I believe the same shipyard.

I suppose now that the vote is over we can reveal which one we voted for. For me it was a tough choice between 8, 9 and 16. I finally went with nine because that was the one on WCK's site that caught my eye and suggested he put it up. It has nice contrast between the dark clouds and the sunlit ship. Overall though I think this month's pictures have been some of the best I have seen.

I voted for #16. The photo shows a nice picturesque scene with the small LeConte chugging along. I love the design and size of the LeConte and Aurora. Their size makes them look so cute. If I ever won the lottery, I'd buy one and use it as a yacht.

I voted for #14, the one that eventually won. I have always been a fan of photos that include ferries as part of the scenery, rather than photos that feature the ferry by itself. That said, this month's was still a very tough decision. It was between #14, 15, and 2, and it was the snow-capped mountain that clinched the deal on this one.
I am looking at the flagship now, and I just noticed it says "FVF Fairweather". Does anybody know what the FVF stands for? I'm guessing it has something to do with the fact that it's a high speed catamaran. Maybe "M/V LeConte" knows?
*LATE EDIT* After some research on the AMHS website, I have my answer. "FVF" = Fast Vehicle Ferries.
