The poll is now open. It will stay open until 9:22 am on Sunday Feb.1st, and will then automatically lock.
Results will be shown at end of voting on Feb.1st.
The winning choice will be the theme for March 09....which means that nominations will be submitted during month of February 09.
Keep in mind that for the actual picture nominations, we have copyright concerns. So a nominated picture needs to be one of your own shots, or one that's part of your collection (where permission for use in your collection has been obtained by you). See www.Evergreenfleet.com for plenty of examples of this. This won't be allowed to be a Google-harvest, re old pics of old ships. So be prepared for restrictions on picture sources for the old-ship categories.
There are 10 nominated themes. These are questions 1-10 on the ballot. Ignore the "na" not-applicable choices on the bottom portion of the ballot.
Thanks to all those who nominated the ideas.
Here are the choices, corresponding to the # choices in the above poll:
=================
1) a Spirit vessel
2) "New beginnings," Maybe the flagship topic can involve the beginnings of our ferry systems. Either first ships, or launchings of ships, or even the latest and greatest ships in the fleet.
3) SeaBus
4) Bow Waves and Wakes
5) Ships that are gone, such as the steamers, or early BC & WSF ferries, vessels that have been gone for say 20 years or more. Examples: the Queen of the Islands, the Princess of Vancouver, the Suzie Q, the Anscomb.... (these are pics of the ship during service for the company which she was most famous)
6) Minor Terminals
7) Spaulding designed vessels (Art Of Spaulding)
8) Vessel interiors (Inner Beauty)
9) Vessels under construction/undergoing MLU or other major upgrade (Ferry (Re)Birth)
10) Vessels in use after retirement (The Afterlife) - this would be restricted to pictures that show how the vessel was used after retirement and not showing the vessel in decrepit condition
