March 2009's Flagship theme is the Spirit-class ferries of BC Ferries. This was the result of the members'-choice poll.
Regarding the ship's for the flagship, there are 2 of them, so take your pick of one or the other, or have a picture with both. As long as there's a kermode-ferry that's prominent in the banner.
Any livery is ok. Regular size & nomination-# rules apply.
Due to the high number of entries, there will be a preliminary ballot. The deadline for submissions will be February 26th at 9:00 PM PST. We will then Narrow the choices down to the top 10.

It might be a little late for this, but since this is the topic that was chosen, I had a thought.
There are an awful lot of Spirit photos out there. They are easily the most commonly photographed vessels in the fleet, and because of this most of us have HUGE collections of Spirit photos.
Perhaps, to ease the ballot-load and prevent the votes from being too spread out come the end of February, we should have a preliminary ballot followed by another with the top 5 or so. Or, as an alternative, maybe we should limit the number of submissions to one per person instead of 3.
Just my thoughts on the subject... it is of course up to the almighty mods to make a decision, or even decide if a decision has to be made.

I think we'll make a decision on this later in the month. if we have 15 or more nominations then we'll consider a preliminary ballot.

Here's my photo (see sig). Mr. Write, do you have a full sized photo to go with that as specified in the flagship rules?

This is what happens when we neglect the largest ships in the fleet for so long. Perhaps we should have just done one. I see about 10 of the SoVI, 1 of the SoBC, and none of Both...*hint *hint. Saying that, I can't wait to see what the JST collection has in store...

None of both? Just so happens that I was just cropping a photo featuring the two "big-boned" girls. Here is my submission: The banner sized version of them is located here: i414.photobucket.com/albums/pp227/Esquimalt-Queen/random%20stuff/DSC_0553a-1.jpg(I would have liked to photo edit the pics to brighten and sharpen things up, but I thought that might be cheating. So here is my submission, a bit blurry though) Okay, done.

Thanks, read it, but nothing about full rez, just 960x240, which is fine with me.

Alright... as proof that you guys have me all wrong... here is evidence that I can take nice photos of the Spirits. That's the most abstract and artsy photo of a ferry I've seen in a while. I quite like it.

All I can say is its about time we featured the Spirits on our WCFF 'Flagship Header'. For now I offer the following three pictures. I may change some or all of these over the next few weeks. Others that I might decide to offer, can be found here. Full size here. Full size here. Full size here.
