Today I decided to suggest a visit to 'Deas Refit' for the television show 'Dirty Jobs' on Discovery Channel. It was a purely impulsive decision without any real thought, so I've got no idea if: -Dirty Jobs films outside of the states -Filming would ever be allowed at Deas -There is actually ample 'dirtiness' at Deas Any-who, there are some 20 suggestions every hour for this television show. So, if anyone is interested in trying to get the shows interest, there are two things I believe can be done: - simply click on the link so that the treads number of 'views' increases. - post a reply so the number of replies goes up. The idea is that with so many suggestions to the show, those with more views and replies would be taken more seriously (this is my guess at least). If Mike Rowe and the crew are desperate enough, they will take up almost any suggestion Today I decided to suggest a visit to 'Deas Refit' for the television show 'Dirty Jobs' on Discovery Channel. When I was oiler (engine room assistant) on the Nanny the first job was to take out the filters and clean them in a bath of diesel oil. You could not wear gloves as the work was too fine. Then when the ship was underway I would walk along the catwalk on top of each engine and oil the rockers. A real nasty one was when a piston broke and we had to take off the head then the access panel and climb inside the engine, which was still hot, and unbolt the piston so it could be lifted out. Talk about hot and dirty! That was easier than a job I had in the power house at a lumber mill.

Actually, they did a show outside of the US. Mike Rowe tagged along with a company from Ontario and salvaged logs on the bottom of Lake Ontario I think. I think it would be awesome to have them do a show a the Deas Yard, ESPECIALLY if it in volves maintenece on one of the black water tanks.... *grins evilly*
Mike Rowe: Oh God... What fresh Hell is THIS?!
