I wonder where the ' Cappie was coming from in this capture taken from a few minutes ago... I'm guessing that it was because of responding to a distress call of some sort, either that or waiting for a free berth.

Any chance that the crappy weather may have played havoc with the GPS system used to plot the vessel positions? I've had this happen with the commercial vehicle mount units before during extreme weather, where I have gotten wildly erroneous readings as to my true location (like 150+m off with supposed 5 sat coverage)

The weather was really pushing her last night, she could have just blown off course.

Or she might've taken semi-evasive action to put the waves in a more advantageous location of impact (if ya can't dodge 'em, you might as well steer for the best ride...)?

Hmmm, Barnacle works onboard WSF vessels and has a little bit more knowledge about vessesls this size and storms like we just had. He is the winner
