Stena Danica (1) ...so much like BC Ferries' original flagship, the Queen of Prince Rupert, ...was built in France by Ateliers et Chantiers de la Seine-Maritime, LeTrait. She entered service with Stena Line between Göteborg/Stenpiren-Frederikshavn in 1965. Stena Danica was the first purpose-built Stena Line car ferry, and indtroduced the "Stena" naming system. I thought that maybe I saw two different vessels through the day, before and after my Newcastle Island hike.

there are currently 3 of them. the Island Mist, Island Queen, and Island Electra
