I'm not too sure about the official term for these, but I was able to capture this image on my way through Langdale on Friday (there are 2 in total, one on each side of the loading ramp):

Automated Ticket Machines I think they're called. They only just installed them recently? Cause they didn't have them a few weeks ago.

Boarding Passes for Foot Passengers at Langdale Posted July 28, 2006 BC Ferries has installed two ticket dispensers at the Langdale terminal that issue boarding passes to foot passengers. Foot passengers at this location will now obtain a boarding pass from one of the machines prior to boarding the ship. These dispensers are located near the passenger shelters on each side of the main ramp at berth one. When walking onto the vessel, customers are asked to present their boarding pass to terminal staff on the ramp. Any foot passenger without a boarding pass will be asked to return to the ticket machines to obtain one. All large organized foot passenger groups are asked to advise a Terminal Attendant of the total number in their party to be added to the foot passenger count, instead of using the new machines. This new system is designed to improve the accuracy of foot passenger counts. BC Ferries thanks its customers for their cooperation on this important safety initiative. www.bcferries.com/schedules/notices/notice07280602.html
