After I arrived at Tsawwassen Friday night off the Queen of Nanaimo from Galiano I was on my way back to Swartz Bay from Galiano via Tsawwassen and I went in to the departures area and people were just standing around and I looked, and all the booths said CLOSED. People came in and were wondering the same thing why they were closed thinking sailings were all full up. Apparently they said they were waiting for the 8:00pm and 8:15pm ferries to clear out before selling tickets for the next sailings. Some guy came rushing in was a bit pissed off cause he just barely made it on the 8:15pm to Duke Point as he convinced them to let him and was the last person they let on, as he was delayed due to the shuttle bus, lol! But I have never seen all foot passenger booths closed like that before and never heard of them doing that before, waiting for sailings to leave, has anyone else?? Maybe when it just busy they do that.

it didn't happen before, but after the QOTN incident, more accurate numbers are probably what bc ferries is trying to accomplish

I think this normal. It has happened to me a few times travelling from Tsawassen to Swartz bay; ausually around 5 minutes to the hour. It makes sense that they do not want foot passengers from different sailings, say a 7:00pm and 8:00pm mixing themselves up. Or more likely, preventing people from making a mad dash down the walkway trying to make the earlier boat.
