Arriving at Swartz Bay last night on the 9pm sailing one the crew members was dry mopping the floors then she did a wet mop, she had the wet floor sign up in the area by the Snack Bar/Gift Shop so people wouldent slip. But what do you think happened?? A little girl slipped while she walked across the wet area. The parents I say, flipped out saying that is rediculas to be doing that now and it's dangerous to be doing it while passengers are still onboard. They were talking to the two employees about it. I have a feeling that family will be sending feedback to BC Ferries about that. What do you guys think about a situation like that?? I heard one the guys say that they have to get the floors done before the end of the night. I dont know when their shifts end but I wonder if they can hold off doing that till most people are off the ship?? or do they have to get things done by a certain time??

OK, let's just leave the floors so that they get dirty and dusty. Then people will be breathing dust and slipping on that dry dirt. Sounds like a plan.

Must have been a special situation. There's no way the maintenance crew is getting the whole ferry cleaned before the last sailing's passengers get off.

I wonder if they were tourists from a certain powerful coalition of states near Canada where the justice system (specifically, in this case, like times such as when someone sued for and won a lot of $ when her coffee burned her, for example >supressesalaugh<) is inadequate.

Yeah I have no idea where they were from. I know they had a car as they went down to the car deck but who know's if they were from here or somewhere else.

I'm sure ferry employees, like bus drivers, have to put up with a lot of rude and inconsiderate people.
I doubt BC Ferries could be sued if they had the signs up.

There's usually always some sort of accident, or incedent happening on the Ferries. When my dad was commuting on the ferries (Route 2) every 3-4 days, for 7 months, back in 2003, there was always something going on, that wouldn't be posted on the internet. One evening on the Queen of Cowichan, everyone had to be piled in to the forward lounge on the #1 end, as there was a car fire on the car deck. Luckily the Ferry was still docked at Horseshoe Bay, and the Ferry was delayed for about 45 mins. Also, there was another time where a little kid bashed its head on a corner of somthing, and ended up needing assistance from some of the first aid crew, as there was a bit of blood. There was an ambulance waiting in Departure Bay for the Ferry to come in, and once the cars were offloaded, the ambulance went aboard to pick up the child. The Ferry was again delayed 20 mins.
Back in December of 2000, my Grandfather started having chest pains while on the Queen of Alberni, as it was halfway to Duke Point. It wasn't until the next day, he was rushed to the Hospital in Nanaimo, due to the pains becoming worse and worse, and ended up being told he was having a heart attack the whole time.
