Here's an odditie: The new Queen of Esquimalt postcard, Um, there are no horns! And why is there only one set of vents on the main car deck (towards the stern)? She doesn't have them anymore, but when she did there were three sets on each side!! We've been through two Summers with the ships in the new colours, so why do they still have to use retouched photos?? Very frustraiting!!

I saw those new postcards my last trip on the Queen of Vancouver they had a photo that I thought was pretty much the same one as the Esquimalt but it said Queen of Vancouver. Also saw a new SOBC and SOVI post card. Yeah I just noticed that, no horns and the Queen of Esquimalt dosent even have the lower deck vents so why do they stuff like this. lol!

BTW, I can see that it is a photoshopped image if you can tell from the funnel.

BTW, I can see that it is a photoshopped image if you can tell from the funnel. The way the funnel was done resembles airbrushing (like what some baseball card companies did when they didn't have a photo of the player in the uniform for whatever team they were on).

...We've been through two Summers with the ships in the new colours, so why do they still have to use retouched photos?? Very frustraiting!! And I had been waiting through my late teens and early 20s for the people of BC to get accross their opinion of the so-called "BC ' Liberal'" Party (more SoCred from what I've seen - just as the background of the majority of their cabinet members demonstrates) through their democratic right. ...For some reason, youthful idealism maybe, I didn't give up. I actually started to think this crazy thought, seeing how powerless we all must have realized that we are after the results of the last provincial election, that we would actually start to equate things like shortcomings (such as not putting money into new postcard shots, etc, etc, etc...) of recently-privatized former Crown Corporations with the government that privatized the company in the first place, not the company that has been privatized itself. I guess that I should stop holding my breath. Very frustrating!!

So which is it, Powell River Class or Mayne Queen Class?
This from the Maritime Museum of British Columbia in Victoria:

Mayne Queen Class? More Like Mayne Class. I find that Powell River Class has a better ring to it.
