My trip back from the launching last night was the 7pm sailing out of HSB on the Oak Bay. So I get my ticket and head down to the berth. The guy never tells me where to go. So I just assume as I see the sign that says NANAIMO lit up that is where you go. Everyone else was going there too even though some of them were told to follow the blue line. The red line leaded up to this waiting area were everyone was. So near the docking time a ferry employee this time a women comes up and goes around asking if anyone was for Bowen Island. Now I dont know how it started but next thing I knew she was telling people if you were going to Nanaimo to go to the other lounge and I qoute "Like you were told" I guess someone said something like "We were told to come here" and she says "Bulls***" So everyone had to move to the other lounge. This wasent berth 1 as when we boarded we were in the lounge usually they use for Langdale. We boarded via the upper passenger deck onto the outside deck for some reason. I thought berth 1 they only did that at HSB???
This is what I think. You tell people to follow the blue line but then you see the red line leading to the sign that says NANAIMO, where you gonna go?? I heard someone say "we are suppose to follow the blue line" The other person says, "well the sign here says NANAIMO. I mean If you dont want people using that lounge then dont have the sign lit up the says NANAIMO. Simple!
That is my rant for now!
Edited to remove swearing.

So people were annoyed by the fact that they followed a line different than the one they were instructed and ended up in the wrong place?

During our trip to Long Beach this summer, the woman in the ticket booth told us to stay in one of the lanes marked "Bowen Island". Fortunately there was another man in a booth (just behind the upper compound) that told us where to go. Edited to remove swearing from quote.

I apologise for my poorly behaved fellow employees. We all have bad days and personal problems but that's no excuse for rudeness.

Karl: are you talking about a sign that is lit up with red-lights or something, where they could have just turned-off the electricity to the sign? Or are you talking about a permanent sign, which they would need to cover it up with a board? So, I guess the issue is: "How do they deal with existing permanent signage, when they use a temporary different passageway route?"The other question is of course: "Do you rant as loudly/quietly as you LOL?" - enquiring minds want to know....

There are two waiting areas and right below the stairs to the first one there is a sign and it's lit up to say either Nanaimo or Langdale or Bowen Island. In this case it said Nanaimo. It said 3N on the ticket I had but the sign said Nanaimo which is why most people thought that was for Nanaimo. I wasent even told at the ticket booth where to go but I had a good idea anyways.
