Little River Lot

I've been to Little River several times, and never noticed until today that the lot and buildings just south of the terminal actually belonged to BC Ferries. Does anyone know exactly what it is? Some sort of supply depot?

Hey, don't look at me. I've been there thousands of times and nobody really knows.... maybe it's the place where they hide Hahn after a big disaster?

Seriously folks, I think John might be on to something. I always thought of it as a storage building, but it might be something else.

I've wondered that myself. There's a simalar lot just like the one at Little River here in Powell River on Highway 101 between the Westview and Saltery Bay Terminals where they put the BCF vehicles and other stuff.

Maybe it's their main base for things like ship supplies and possibly emergency dock repairs.
There's Often a BCF Vehicle that pulls a small orange trailer that goes on and off the Ship
Would it not come from there?

The training function for BC Ferries was restructured 18 months ago to four principal locations:
Swartz Bay; Nanaimo; Little River; and Tsawwassen.

I guess that the building at Little River might be for training activities.

Perhaps that's part of it. But there also looked to be equipment and materials for building/repairing docks.

probably a maintenance building. the little orange trailer you see coming off the vessel is likely garbage from onboard being taken over to a main dumpster
