Well, I've started another project tonight...and I need some help from people with great photographic memory. Tonight I'm working on editing the current passeger deck layout that BC Ferries has on their official website, of the Queens of Coquitlam and Cowichan. I'm wanting to show exactly how everything once was with a map. Many thanks goes out to Ferrynutseattle for sparking my idea, which he had done a map of certain Washington State Ferries. Anyways, this is what I have so far, and I need peoples input as to how the arcade was incorperated into the snack bar seating lounge, and how much smaller the gift shop was. You can easily spot the areas on the map which my mind has gone blank, as to how it was layed out.

I've never seen maps of the ferries on the website. Where are they posted?

They don't have maps of every Ferry, but they posted a map of the Coquitlam when she'd just came out of Mid Life refit, promoting the "New Amenities on board". They did a similar thing for the North and Spirits as well. www.bcferries.com/about/fleet/qoc_promo/

Hello Chris!
Couple of things about your cafeteria layout that I remember. Sorry, this is hard to describe.
The cafeteria seating on the Coquitlam and the Cowichan were closed in at the end just before you hit the passenger seating area. There was booth type seating against the wall inside the cafeteria area and on the other side of the wall, there was a fairly large space that they filled with a couple of massage chairs and round tables and chairs. I wish I had a picture.
The other thing I remember was the seating area just behind the cashiers. There was a short, small seating area that was closed-ended. There must've about 10 sets of tables in there. In the new plan, they opened up the closed end so you can now walk through. You can see this area with its open end on the after refit map. On your map you designate this space as "crew area".
There are a couple of things missing on the after refit map, that are actually present on the ship now. I can get pictures of these and show you. They must've had to alter their plans a bit.

Any pictures of the Coquitlam pre Mid Life would be very appreciated. So would the pictures of things that were added post mid life ;D. you were on the ferry when they sank the cape breton too? I'm assuming that was directed at me, because of the thumbnail pictures I posted. But no, I wasn't able to make it on to the Coquitlam for the Cape Breton sinking, due to the fact that the tickets had cost alot, and they had sold out quite quickly. Instead I sat up on top of Sugarloaf Mountain in Departure Bay, and watched the Coquitlam leave. I also remember seeing the Oak Bay coming in for her 12:30pm sailing, but ended up circling around the Cape Breton with the Coquitlam! Now if I had known at the time that the Oak Bay was going to be there as well, I would have gone on the Oak Bay. If there were only time machines.....
