I always here people complain that the ferry's are often late. Having travelled almost entirly on Swartz to TSW, I find this charge hard to believe. From my observations and experiences, I am surprised how the boats never seem to be late.
I even recall various rough crossings where the boat takes a longer detour south so it can approach the dock at a favorable angle (because of the high winds). With waves crashing into the spirit, and mist flying around, I remember saying to myself, well this is the time were going to be late. Yet, even then, we arrive on time. If find the reliability remarkable.

Over 90% of late sailings are totally out of BCFS control... Stalled vehicles, medical emergencies, marine rescues, etc... However, to please the selfish maybe they should begin treating people like cattle, and shove people on board whilst ignoring anything that can cause a ship being late... Now being in the selfish mood I am in, why not sue the Ministry of Transportation for making me leave earlier by obeying their posted speed limits..?

Something has to be sent to the justice system to be ruled frivilous. He hasn't even gotten that far.

Threats of suing are one thing - having it accepted is another
Canadians are used to seeing Americans on TV sue for many stupid things. And unfortunately when some think they can get money for nothing that takes over from common sense.
I am a potential witness in a lawsuit. A fairly senior women dripping in jewels and her toyboy came into a national steakhouse chain restaurant staggering and overtly intoxicated. Within 10 minutes she had created mayhem. She interrupted our table when we were ordering demanding her order be taken now. They asked her to leave and restaurants are required to refuse service if they feel someone is intoxicated. So now she is threatening to sue for not serving her and embarassing her in front of her *ahem* *cough* young friend. I think the way she was mauling him would be enough embarassment. The kid looked mortified as they were led out.

"A waste of legal fees..."
Well, one can often find a lawyer to threaten a suit on a contingency basis (the lawyer gets 30 or 40% of a settlement if successful).
Whether they would actually prepare and fight a case at trial without money up front is another matter.
