according to the vessel track for Departure Bay to Horseshoe Bay at 8:30pm on Friday the Esquimalt is sailing to wards Horseshoe Bay but it says she is headed to Departure Bay. Where might she be going? The Departures/Arrivals page doesn't show anything for her departing Departure Bay in service.

The Esquimalt did a round trip this afternoon, so that is why she would still be listed on the vessel tracking page. She was to arrive at Departure Bay at 7:00, and was probably set to leave around 7:30 or so. I'd assume she's now on her way to Langdale, to prepare for summer schedules.

She is listed as doing a 10pm sailing out of Horseshoe Bay tonight. The Alberni isn't back until the 27th so I would assume she stays at Departure Bay until the 26th.

Wrong BC Ferries is pleased to welcome the Queen of Alberni back to service following an extensive $40 million upgrade. The vessel will commence service on Monday, June 25 with the 5:15 am sailing from Duke Point to Tsawwassen. The vessel’s extensive upgrade included significant mechanical and safety improvements, as well as upgraded passenger amenities that customers are certain to enjoy. This mid-life upgrade, which took approximately seven months to complete, will prepare the 30-year old vessel for another 20 years of service. Some of the major project work included: · New state-of-the-art marine evacuation system · Structural fire protection upgrades · New emergency generator · Upgrades to hull and structure · Main shaft refurbishment · Annual machinery maintenance · New elevator · New heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems · Updates to washrooms and installation of new coin-operated showers · Expanded and remodeled gift shop · New food service facilities · New interior design · New and improved passenger seating areas She will be back on the 25th (Monday)

I did go pass Departure Bay last nite and did see the Esquimalt arrive into Departure Bay. The last glimps of the Ship was at about 6:55pm and she was just about to make the turn to back into her dock. Since I was up near Brooks Landing I could not see which dock she went into.

She has probably gone to Langdale as the summer season is about to kick off this week.
