Why isn't the current BCFS vessel "Kahloke" named "Kahloke II" ? Is this because the old BlackBall Kahloke was later renamed Langdale Queen? I'm curious why the 2nd ship doesn't have to be identified as a junior.

My Theory into this is that every ship has it's name registered."Kahloke" was originally the name she was registered under, but she was later renamed "Langdale Queen" so the ship is no longer under that name in the registry. So, therefore the name "Kahloke" was free to use, so when the current "Kahloke" came along in 1973, the Langdale Queen was still around but was not registered as "Kahloke" so they could probably use the name without having to put in "Kahloke II". Think of the first two Princess Marguerite as another example. The First Princess Marguerite was destroyed in World War II so she might not have been under registry anymore so the Second Marguerite might not have had to display "II" on her side. The "Chinook" when brought to Canada could not be named as "Chinook" since there was already a ship under that name so she had to display "Chinook II"
