This month I've been on Route 1 twice. The first time was on a Saturday, and we caught the 12:00 sailing from Tsawwassen, which was the Queen of Vancouver. The next time was a Wednesday evening when I caught the 6:00PM sailing from Tsawwassen, which was also the Queen of Vancouver. While I was planning the trip in my head, I did the math (from Saturday's schedule).. Queen of Vancouver departs Tsawwassen at 12, then at 4... therefore I'd be getting the Queen of Saanich as the 6:00PM sailing. So I was surprised when the Queen of Vancouver showed up! The schedule is different depending on the day of the week, which mixes it up. From Monday to Thursday, the V-class ships start at 6:00AM but on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday they start at 8:00PM. So if you catch the Queen of Vancouver at 12:00 on Sunday, you'll catch the Queen of Saanich at 12:00 on Monday. Good thing to know if you want to catch a specific ferry - I didn't really care too much:) Interesting also that the V-class ships only do 3 round trips on Saturday (up until today)... how do they crew that? Does one crew just work 4 hours?
