Bit of a stretch for them to refer to the 'new' service to Bella Coola, since they're really just giving Bella Coola more direct runs on an existing service. Passenger only Vancouver to Swartz Bay is a bit baffling; most passenger only runs are downtown to downtown. Is everyone going to pile on to the number 70 bus into Victoria? As you say though, it's nice to see that BC Ferries is entertaining new ideas.

If they are talking about the fast ferries, that quote is from the late 90's and has no bearing on right now.

Yeah, they could buy the HarbourLynx vessel, rename it something like "Angel of the Georgia Strait", and put it on a Canada Place-Sidney run.

If you paid any attention to my previous posts, Cascade, you'd know that BC Ferries was looking at two routes between Vancouver Airport or downtown Vancouver to Nanaimo and/or Victoria. It wouldn't likely be a car service just because of the region the "new" terminal would be located in, however, all suggestions were open at the time.

I speculate that BC Ferries is just trying to "Tie Up" the Sidney terminal, so that no other competitors can use it....ie. WMG.
