Hey all, got my first look at the Queen of Burnaby yesterday. I was working on the CN Toyota/Fraser Wharves job and got a good look at her at Deas. She looks good without the Solarium behind the bridge, I always thought that looked out of place.
The crew working on her was having some fun with us, everytime the locomotive engineer would blow the horn for the No.5 Rd crossing, someone would blow the horn on the Queen of Burnaby. It was pretty weird to hear a ferry blowing the crossing signal(long-long-short-long).

Thats quite intresting. I'm surprised they would do that knowing they aren't going anywhere

LOL... The QOB is an awesome ship. She's got some unique looks and features from running with Victoria Line that make the trip worth while.

That would actually be pretty funny to see. It's not too often you notice someone in the bridge playing with the horn, and most likely playing with the controls. Heh heh, I guess the workers at Deas were bored today.

Is it even LEGAL to blow the horn on a ship without doing anything like that?

I like the cafeteria on the Queen of Burnaby. Still has the old BC Ferries burger platter instead of the white spot stuff. Last time I was on her there were only about 10 cars and just a few more passengers. Went through some awful weather, but it was great... one of my most memorable ferry trips!

The Cafeteria I think is one of the best cafeterias on the B Class and V Class Ships Besides the Nanaimo

I like the layout: Have the Gift Shoppers and Hungry Passengers use the same cashier. Last time I was on board, there was four cars sailing, it was the 8:45 pm out of Powell River, and one of the passengers was our left-handed governor.

Geez, four and ten cars? No wonder they lose money on the route.

May long weekend (Saturday night.. last trip of the day)... 10 cars. I guess that would be the best time to travel on a long weekend.
