As mentioned in another thread already, the MV Quinsam is running behind schedule for the rest of the service day today, due to unknown mechanical problems.
BCF says customers on the Gabriola Island to Nanaimo Harbour route can expect sailing delays to continue this afternoon and evening.
Also having problems is the MV Kahloke. According to information as of 5:48 pm, service between Denman Island and Hornby Island has been fully suspended.
The reported problem is a steering malfunction. The vessel will remain at Hornby Island while the extent of the problem is reviewed.

The Kahloke has since resumed limited service between Hornby Island and Denman Island.
That update from BC Ferries at 7 p.m.
Operating on one engine, the vessel is making the last sailing of the service day, from Hornby Island to Denman Island in order to pick up the remaining traffic at Denman East Terminal, then returning to Gravelly Bay to tie up for the night.
Repairs are expected be completed overnight.

the kahloke according to reports, had a sterring failure with her port drive unit, and the Quinsam had her 2 forward drive units fail (at the same time apparently) but because she has four. its all good. shes just a little slow

Good, so she was just a bit late then, and they are good now, or the Kahloke is anyway, the Quinsam is in for overhaul.
