DISCOVERY COAST PASSAGE SEASON BEGINS WITH SEAT SALE
30% discount between Port Hardy and Bella Coola during month of June

VICTORIA – BC Ferries is offering a 30 per cent savings for customers travelling between Port Hardy and Bella Coola from June 15 until June 30. The Discovery Coast Passage season has been extended this year and will operate through the end of September.
With the Queen of Prince Rupert servicing both the Port Hardy – Prince Rupert and Prince Rupert – Queen Charlotte Islands routes this summer, BC Ferries has increased the frequency of non-stop service between Port Hardy – Bella Coola by the Queen of Chilliwack to give travellers more options.

Since 1996, the Queen of Chilliwack has provided this unique summertime opportunity to travel from Port Hardy to Bella Coola.
Passengers will find many onboard amenities on the Queen of Chilliwack including a cafeteria, licensed lounge, gift shop, onboard videos, coin-operated showers, recliner seats, and tourist information on local attractions.

Last summer, more than 9,700 people travelled the Discovery Coast Passage, which is renowned for its spectacular scenery and as a gateway to eco-adventures. Passengers can even launch their kayaks off the ferry at pre-arranged locations along the route.

I've never seen the Queen of Chilliwack in real life, but I think it is a cool ferry!

Karl, it's nice to know I have one of my kind out there. However, the only thing that seperates us, is the Queen of Chilliwack.

As for you Sean, don't get a first impression based upon the photos you see; trust me: I saw the Chilli-Dog in a picture, and for the next two years of my life, it was my hero. And then, the moment I saw it come around the corner of Nelson Island just outside of Earls Cove, I knew that I had made a big mistake. And for the entire trip, I wanted to get out of the camped waiting room, out of the rain, and into my nice warm Ford Explorer, where I could have some peace. Of course, I could not do this until the trip was over.

I'd go on the Queen of Chilliwack, but on a shorter trip like when it is on the Earls Cove-Saltery Bay run. If you ask me the 'Wack is a giant tin-boat with a big box on it. It's BC Ferries official Ugly Boat.

I always thought the PR Queen looked better and the Bowen was the best looking.

No Curtis, I've been on the Chilliwack, and I absolutley hate it.

As for the Mayne Queen, I always thought that it was one of the , erm, uglier ships in our fleet, and I've never really taken a liking for it.Same goes for it's sister, the Bowen, the Kwuna, and (sorry Harry) Mill Bay.

Now you can diss the Queen of Chilliwack, Mayne Queen and the Bowen Queen. But dissing the Kwuna? Thats just going to far buddy, it's a cool ferry. Actually it's evil to diss any V/B/K Class ferries. All the others go right ahead, but don't cross the line

As for me I find every BC Ferry to be Nice in their own way. The Queen of Chilliwack happens to be one of the First Ferries I've Ever been on and I get on it more often than most of you So I think I've developed a liking to it

Alright, calm down, calm down. We all have our own opinions, don't we? I don't mind the Klitsa or Kahloke, just I have mid-sized criteria, and the Kwuna did not meet my standards. And I dare say, neither did the Queen of Alberni.

I just think that it's a little - erm - weird looking with the tiny wating room and the ramps. Oh well, I guess they're too cheap to buy a proper berth...

The ramps I can admit are a little bit weird, and the small waiting room? Live with it! The ramps on the kwuna make it very unique, which is sometimes a good thing

Now they get to tease the Nimpkish, actually on that ferry, they don't look all that bad!

I say that they should put the better looking Tachek and instalolramps on that thing to run the route! Intresting.. if they were to detatch the ramps on the Kwuna, and extend the waiting rooms, like they did to the Klitsa, well then I'd get pretty close to actually liking it.

Every ferry is unique in it's own way! I wouldent say the PR Class ships are ugly! The Mill Bay is a bit wierd though! The Wack I am looking forward to going on a looks like a neat ship.
