I was just watching the Early News on Global BC News. The Queen of Saanich has been hired for 5 days by the Canadian Militarys Terrorist Force, and is conducting drills on the Ferry. This of course is done in the middle of the night. The Ferry is taken to the middle of the Saanich Inlet, and the Military treats the situation as a hijacked Ferry. So they swarm around the Ferry with Helicopters, and soldiers slide down ropes from the Helicopter, to the Ferry's deck. Anyways, just thought it was interesting that they were doing exercises like that, and it's good that they're putting the 'Saanich to use when she's not in service.

I'd much rather see more of these drills, even if there's delays to the public because of them, than see the inevitable security changes at terminals and aboard vessels come sooner rather than later.

I think it would be good to take the ferry, and some people (like the guys who do airsoft on the sidney) and see if they can overwhelm a crew, and then place the ferry in a dangerous situation. i could see that being alot of fun (for all, and a good learning expierience for all)

It appears to be falling from the upper car deck as welll... ...it rose from beneath the surface.... For those who don't get it, that would be my terrible humour at 7am on a day off ;D

Queen of Surrey drills at Langdale.I think it was the reason why they needed the extra day of refit for the 'New West, for either testing of the emergency systems or for drills. Here's a closer look at the 'New West yesterday

I think sometimes the crew will water down the deck. Maybe that's why.

I think sometimes the crew will water down the deck. Maybe that's why. It looks to me like a test of the deluge system. I remember boarding the Burnaby at little river a few years back right after they had completed a deluge test. Everything was very wet...lol These are pictures on the BCFMWU showing the Surrey during her engine room fire and her deluge system running.

oh dude, that sucks!
Was he far enough ahead of the engine room to avoid the heat damage? or did he end up with a few melted tires?

Not too sure about if anything happened to the tires...I just know he is the one who assisted in opening the doors.
