The RBI page on the official BCFS's website shows the Esquimalt operating in place of the QoNWM for most of the winter on route 30. Who knows - even I may get a last ride...
The RBI page also does not yet list any sailings for the Coastal Renaissance.

Where will the Queen of Esquimalt be on Sept 2? She isn't doing Langdale that day and Route 2 doesn't show her listed (well at least from HSB), any ideas where she will be that day?

If we could get an exemption from the Jones Act, she would be perfect for Edmonds to Kingston to help alleviate the weekend rush. Nah. Takes too long to turn a single-ender around. Not to mention there's bloody few WSF officers who know how to handle a single-ender backing into a slip! ;D

We all wish. At least it could clear the lot at Kingston

I heard from an Esquimalt crew member today that she'll be heading to Turkey after her stint on route 30.. and not for scrapping. So the guessing continues...?

So, for anyone who hasn't been following these ever-changing rumours of the final fate of our ' Esquimalt, here's the list so far... -First we were told on [relatively] good authority that she'd be sent to Turkey for scrap; -Next we were told on [relatively] good authority that she'd be sent to Alang for scrap; -Now she might goto Turkey but not for scrap. I know it's getting confuting for me atleast, but of course only time will tell.

She is currently running down the other side of Bowen Island towards the strait. She did 1 extra sailing to Langdale this morning so I have no idea where she is going. Deas? or Nanaimo?? I wonder!

Looks like she just did a direct trip from Langdale to Departure Bay. She's now sitting in Berth 1 once again, while the Coquitlam is in Berth 3 as well.

She sailed at 11am to Horseshoe Bay with passengers as there was a 1 sailing wait. Then she left HSB came back towards Langdale then down along Bowen Island out across to Nanaimo I would assume.

There's not much point in making a special thread for this, as I'm sure it won't recieve alot of attention. I don't know if anyone was watching the Horseshose Bay to Departure Bay vessel positions page around 5:30pm to 6:00pm this evening, but the Queen of Esquimalt made a bit of a course alteration coming into Horseshoe Bay. I was only able to glace out on to the Strait from the Upper levels Highway while I was driving, so I couldn't take any pictures. So I'll try and create a picture of what I saw. The Queen of Cowichan was outbound in Queen Charlotte Channel, and for some reason, the Esquimalt veered off course and it looked like she was heading straight for the Burrard Inlet. She wasn't far off from Point Atkinson, so that gives you some sort of and idea of where she was. Here's a google earth image of what I saw.

I was at Spanish Banks at that time, and I was watching the 'Esquimalt through the binoculars. I don't know, it looked to me like she was pretty much following the regular route further out alongside Bowen, but maybe you had a better perspective from the Upper Levels.

BC Ferries has scheduled 130 minute turn around for MDs in December, so unless this is an oversight which is very possible it would suggest the Esqu will be on Rte 2 again.

I am pretty sure the Q of Esquimalt did a 2045h trip from Dep. Bay last night.

Yesturday afternoon, Tuesday Sept 11 I went for my walk from the Departure Bay 7-11 to the Ferry Terminal along the beach and I watched some crew members take the Queen of Esquimalt's rescue boat for a spin. I also watched the Queen of Cowichan depart at 3:05pm and there were lots of Overhight traffic left behind at the terminal.
