It is the Esquimalt. There is no other one it could be unless the Alberni is there already but it dosent look like the Alberni so it has to be the Esquimalt!

Could be yeah! The Queen of Tsawwassen has docked nose in before at Departure Bay that time she was there in berth 1!

Whoa Nelly, I could have some fun with you. ;D And by that I mean posting slightly-inaccurate items, just to play with you. Who needs conventional torture techniques, when we've got noses-on-ships ? By the way, how are things in Courtney ?

Getting back to the original question of "What is in Berth 1 at Departure Bay", we may be missing the point of the matter: The berth, being a structure, may not be completely solid, and may have spaces within the cores of the structures. Even seemingly solid wood or metal has microscopic space between particles. So, I propose a motion to submit "Empty-Space" as the answer to the question. Do I have a seconder ?

Speaking of Departure Bay: (there's no point in starting a new thread for this small item.....so here it is. I suspect that Scott may have some info on this story, as he knows people who work at Dep Bay). ======================== www.canada.com/victoriatimescolonist/news/capital_van_isl/story.html?id=2f81dcc7-073b-4e7b-8f16-f25de0c0a52dWoman taken to hospital in Nanaimo ferry incident CanWest News Service Saturday, June 16, 2007 NANAIMO - A woman was checked into hospital for a psychiatric evaluation after an incident at the Departure Bay Ferry terminal yesterday morning that damaged several cars. Police said the Nanaimo resident drove over a signboard and through an unoccupied toll booth. Police believe she was trying to drive toward the water's edge with thoughts of harming herself. But she rear-ended a van in the ferry lineup, and then hit several other vehicles before coming to a stop. While none of the injuries was believed to be serious, three people were taken to hospital to be checked, said B.C. Ferries spokeswoman Debra Marshall. © Times Colonist (Victoria) 2007

A lady was going about 70 km/h when she sped down the holding lanes and through the closed booth... She then proceeded into the back of an older pick-up truck with the force then causing the truck to rear-end the minivan in front of it.

What's in the water up there? I understand that the person may be at the end of their tether but, do they have to endanger the lives of innocent by-standers.

Nothing is in birth 1 now. I just looked out my kitchen window to see the Esquimalt leaving the bay.

I am not sure of the exact time of arrival at Departure Bay... She was supposed to be here on Sunday, but a pipe burst causing her to be delayed until Tuesday. I assume a crew will be taking the Esquimalt to Tsawwassen or Deas, then return with the Alberni as Berth 3 is currently being worked on...

I would have thought the Eskie would be sent to Langdale, to get ready for supplemental service on Route 3? Or are they going to keep her on standby in case a Ferry breaks down, and use the Coquitlam to run between Routes 2 and 3?

6:15PM Tues It appears that the Alberni has arrived at Departure Bay. The Esquimalt is in Berth 1 and looks like the Alberni in Berth 2
