Queen of the North anniversary Trip

Well I was looking at the Northern Schedules for next March and this is the closest trip to the 1 year anniversary when the Queen of the North sank.

So this would be the night the North sank this year which was a Wednesday night. Looking at the arrival times into Prince Rupert being 11:30am the North site is about 5 hours south of Rupert so the Rupert would be passing by the site about 6:30am or earlier.

Now you can either spend a day in Prince Rupert waiting for the next Southbound trip or you could spend that day on the Rupert again and go to the Charlottes and back.

I am THINKING about doing this trip. I am saying this now so people that are interested can save up enough money by then.


Port Hardy to Prince Rupery rountrip would be $198.40 for passengers. This would just be a foot passenger trip.

$52.90 to the Charlottes roundtrip you add those two fares together for a total of $251.30. If you save up now you can do this trip. Would be less if you just went to Rupert and back. But I say why wait around in Rupert for a day when you can take the ferry to Charlottes and back. Spend 3 days on the Rupert. That would be an interesting trip. I have been thinking about doing this. Anyone else interested??? We get to sail past the North site maybe have a little gathering to remember her by.

This will be the anniversary trip. Not that it's a happy anniversary trip though. It will be sad!


Also maybe if the Sonia is running do the trip on her instead of the Rupert or whatever the situation will be by then.

It definitely would be the most expensive trip we could take. But I think it just might be worth it. The Mainlanders still have to add in the round trip fare of going to the Island and back as well, along with the gas to get up to Port Hardy. I'll have to sit on it for a little while though.

Well we have lots of time do figure it out. It definately would be a neat trip. Something you wouldent get to do that often.

Sounds like a good idea. Add on the cost of taking the Kwuna if you go to QCI at Spring Break, and a few bucks more on Gravol for Hectic Strait.

Well we wouldent have much time on the Charlottes as we would arrive at 9pm and then be leaving again at midnight to go back. I am just talking a roundtrip to the Charlottes and back. We could sneak in a trip on the Kwuna though at 9:30pm and return at 10pm from Alliford Bay. It would be dark though.
