Folks, we need to pull something together.
How s'bout, we meet at Horseshoe Bay around noon on Saturday, and wait for the Bowen Queen to get into service.
Remember this is only a suggestion, if you want to make modifications, then fine.

Is this tour booked up yet? If we are planning a tour on Saturday and we meet up around 12pm does anyone know what time the Bowen Queen is leaving? I would like to go but I don't want to get to Horseshoe and have to wait 4 hours to ride her or find out worse she isn't running at all.

Sorry, I am booked this week and last minute planning would not be the best, perhaps we could do this during the summer when some of us do not have as much to do.

Okay, we could do it in the summer, when she's on route 9.

Well don't forget, the Alberni goes to Route 2 next week, so we could always plan to get out on one of these next few weekends to go on the Last C-Class Ferry with the original look inside, just months before it gets its extreme makeover, without the tv crew.

Couldn't get me aboard the 'Berni on route 2 for any reason; I'd goto HSB or take route 30 and goto Dep Bay to see the rare-sights of her being at those terminals, but inbetween them it's crowded, and pretty much just like her other, less-used routes.

Speaking of the Albi going to Route 2,
Duke Point – Tsawwassen customers are advised that a modified schedule will be in place from Tuesday, April 18 through Tuesday, May 9, while the regular vessel the Queen of Alberni is redeployed to the Departure Bay – Horseshoe Bay route.
The temporary vessel redeployment is necessary, so BC Ferries can remove the Queen of Oak Bay for annual refit. Because of higher traffic volumes on the Departure Bay – Horseshoe Bay route the greater capacity and speed of the Queen of Alberni is required.
For three weeks the Queen of Esquimalt will be the temporary replacement vessel on the Duke Point route. Because the Queen of Esquimalt operates at a slower speed, with a crossing time of approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes, a modified schedule is in effect. The modified schedule provides the same total of 8 round trip sailings, but leaves earlier in the morning and ends later in the day.
In addition, the Queen of New Westminster, the other regular vessel on the Tsawwassen – Duke Point route, will be removed from service for three maintenance days to ensure the ship is in optimum operating condition for the upcoming summer season.
April 18 – April 24, 2006 and April 28 – May 9, 2006

Commercial operators please note that due to a different deck configuration and an overheight deck clearance of only 13’6” (4.11 m) the Queen of Esquimalt carries fewer commercial vehicles than the Queen of Alberni.
The Queen of Alberni is expected to resume the regular schedule with the 5:15 a.m. departure from Duke Point on Wednesday, May 10.

Too bad you guys didn't go on Friday night. I was told Pamela Anderson was on the 7:00 PM (actually 7:40) from Nanaimo. Apparently Mrs. Plastic was signing autographs.
Someone should name a seal burger after her:)
Correction: It was Thursday night... the long weekend messed my brain up:)

(Hitting head against keyboard, hgbygtbn yhyhugynuh7 hjnu jmnhuj mj umnhiuyjh) Okay that was just intresting, but still PAMELA ANDERSON of all people on a BC Ferry tonight. you'd think she would be on the other side of the country since the Junos were on a few weeks ago I guess she decided to come back to her home province of BC. Here's a plastic surgery joke kinda hard to resist it, With all that plastic surgery she can't make it through the door on the Queen of Cowichan LOL. Just so were clear I'm not into her like alot of men are I just think it's all funny so LOL

Yeah, you're welcome to come with us on that upcoming trip, mainlander101 (everyone else is, as well; I can't speak for Karl, but I don't think he'd mind (lol, atleast I hope i'm not being too presumptuous)). Just be aware that it's coming up quite soon; only between Tuesday and Thursday of next week will both the QoVancouver and QoEsquimalt be on route 30.

And it sounds like I'll just be meeting Karl at Duke, in order to find that great vantage-point in nearby Jack Point Park, before he heads off to Departure Bay to catch the Alberni. All are still welcome, though, for the roundtrip, or even just the meeting at Duke, photographers especially (Jack Point Park is the last point of land, just beyond the terminal, that you can see as you leave Duke Point terminal on a ferry, so it'll make for some pretty amazing shots).

Yeah unless I can take the Alberni sometime this week I could do a roundtrip to Tsawwassen that day we planned. I just dont wanna do a trip on the Alberni on the weekend then go a day or so later again from Duke Point.
