Yeah that was my brother. He wasent interested that much in the ferries, but he sort of thought he knew alot about them to bug me back then. lol! He isent interested in them now though. lol! Once again good job Chris.

As I'm quite impatient, I cannot watch the Sidney video at this time. Unless I'm willing to wait 24 min. and 8 sec. But I did see the Victoria video, and it was great! I've never before seen the Queen of Victoria, so it was nice to be able to see her! Thanks again for putting that together, Chris and Karl!

Perhaps it caught the old announcement? As it is somewhat featuring the old interior.
Is there any on the minor vessels? Just wondering.

That old announcement that was on teh Victoria video was actually recorded while riding the Cowichan. Perhaps that's why it had a bit different of an announcement, seeming it was fresh from its FIRST mid life upgrade.
I'll try to get the C-Class Video up tomorrow, I've been on the Island all weekend, so I've had no time to work on any videos. Yes, there will be a minor section as well. That, and a Spirit section, with extra stuff on the Skeena.

I'm pretty sure it was only unique to the Cowichan. It's starting to come back to me, I'm remember hearing that announcement only on that ferry, but with the other feries, it was with the guy speaking. On the topic of old announcements, I heard one of the original announcements on the Cowichan on Thursday evening. It was the one that tells you to get out of the cafeteria when you're finnished your meal. But it was just weird actually hearing that old "Ding, Dong" once again 2 years after they changed it.

I love the Ding Dong, I had it on my iPod bust lost it awhile ago. Some one had posted it on this board! I've heard the announcement for the caf too, it's random how they havent rerecorded it. Im not even sure if the new voice is a human? I'd doubt it b/c they rerecord them somewhat often. (as an aside SkyTrain did used to be a real person, who I met, and she does sound like SkyTrain LOL) Some vessels, including the Tenaka and Chilliwack use the old announcements as their standards. |

There is an announcement on the video I gave Chris on the SOVI with the Ding Dong with the announcement for the Lantern Coffee Bar. It was kind of a neat sound.

I have a solid 5-8 hours of ferry video sitting on 8mm I need to convert to DVD with the other 80 hours of video I have. From the old walk-way at TSA to the old Fullford dock to the Burnaby at Long Harbour and front in instead of back in.

Another awesome video. The Cowichan looked really nice before her mid life. She was pretty much like the Saanich. I miss that old interior of the Cowichan.

I remember the Coquitlam being at Tsawassen in 1997. I saw it pull in when I was on the Nanny going to Galiano Island. I also saw the Queen of Victoria pull in next to it.

Once Again Great Job Guys!  The Cowichan's seating plan looked pretty good much better than most interiors looks too bad that old interior will never be seen again in a year the rest is good. ...Hey! What was ineresting about that trip was that was coming in on the 3pm SOVI from Swartz Bay and it was around 4:35pm arriving at Tsawwassen and the Coquitlam was loading. Now it seems to me that day the Coquitlam was really late leaving as I would assume that was the 3:15pm from Tsawwassen which is usually the New West and probably going to Departure Bay as I am not sure if Duke Point was open then.
