Kind of a silly poll, but I believe it should be asked. Weather makes a big difference in my ferry trips, what about you? I like sunny with strong winds myself. Nothing like a ferry trip (or visit to the terminal) on a nice sunny day.

i love rough voyages. they make it interesting, all the sounds of the vessel pushing her way though the weather, our boat is like riding a roller coaster in that weather

Hmmm, this one is a toss up. I like to sit back on the deck when its sunny and windy out and just enjoy the views. But I like it when it's really stormy out just for a thrill. So I'll go with really stormy...

Strong winds can make going on the outside decks really wild plus photos=bad looking and the ship rocks I could feel it rocking on the Queen of Burnaby one time this year from the bathroom but besides that I like nice days with light winds and a warm sun I wonder if the wind could ever get up to the speed of that evening Burn sailing I was talking about above in sunny weather

I myself love nice sunny days travelling on the ferries but I also love dark stormy days on the ferries! I was on the SOVI once and the Coquitlam when it was really rough. I remember rounding the last bend in active pass heading to Tsawwassen and I seen the strait and thought, omg, it must of been like storm force winds. The whole ship started to shake as we hit the swells, they had to shut down food services and coming back it was packed cause the SOBC was in refit and the Vancouver was cancelled and it was so overloaded that sailing with alot of sick people. The Coquitlam coming out of Tsawwassen was rolling up and down, you look to one side you see the sky the other side you see the water, crazy!

I like Sunny trips, they are the right time to travel on the ferries, although overcast is ok for me, I do not like rainy trips unless I am on a major ferry(Vancouver, SOVI, Cowichan, e.t.c) The light winds on the ferries are mainly the winds that blow in your face when the ship is moving! It is so chilly outside while the ferry is going along at 20 or so knots, even in the summer!

I like sunny and windy because if it is hot then you need some wind to cool you off

I don't mind a rough storm as long as I know I'm going to dock on the other side. It sucks to have to turn around after a long stormy trip.

In a sailboat - Swifsure race I like it wild and rough - but on a Ferry - nice sunny day - out on the deck catching a few rays...

I was on the Oaky this afternoon and it was a bit rough coming into Naniamo. It's neat when it's stormy. Got a few photos I will post later.

Awesome! I hope to get on either the Oak Bay or Cowichan tomorrow evening, so hopefully it gets real stormy and foggy out!!

I cannot stand motion sickness, I got it on QOTsawwassen heading into TSW, due to high winds. Flashbacks of the Alberni incident come to mind when I think of high winds.
I like to sail in Fog because it's always a mystery to where you are. I find that cool (y'all have permission to laugh at me).

You were on the Alberni when it was in that huge storm a few years ago?!
Do you take pictures of your trips at all, mainlander101?
