Why is Super C #1 a summer vessel? Doesn't matter which ones are summer vessels, they are all the same. We know they won't replace an "S" Class ferry in regular service with a smaller ship...even if they have the potential to increase profits.

For Route 9 - SGI, I see you put down: WSF Jumbo Mark II type with enclosed doors. Is that just a supposition, or has this been proposed by BC Ferries? I do agree it would be a good vessel on the route though. Only a suggestion. Updated concept though, to BC Ferries' standards. I had to fix a mistake to my ideas too...accidently had Queen of Capilano in the Gulf Islands. Oops, meant Cumberland. Fixed.

And one last note, anyone who wants to propose ideas for the "unknown designs," please, I'd like to see them. Thanks.

doug you got the right Idea however, route 2 is going to have to have 4 vessels and route 3 maybe will need 3 vessels during summer but BCF may have to go back to government in-order to get new vessels. This is what I am thinking of Route 2 Horesehoe Bay: Super C #1, Summer Vessel: Super C #3(overheight) Departure Bay: Super C# 2, Relief + Summer Vessel: Queen of Oak Bay Rotue 1 Tsawwassen:New Vessel(P&O or SeaFrance concept updated), Relief+ Summer Vessel: Spirit Swartz Bay: New Vessel(P&O or SeaFrance concept updated), Relief+ Summer Vessel: Spirit Route 30 Tsawwassen: New Vessel(P&O or SeaFrance concept updated) Duke Point: New Vessel(P&O or SeaFrance concept updated), Relief + Summer Vessel: Queen of Alberni Either have a version of the SeaFrance Rodin or P&O's Pride of Canterbury but updated for BCF standards. Overheight vessel's would carry more overheights than the other's (except new vessels) Way too much capacity Dan, no need. The Spirits won't be displaced from regular service for a LONG time. As for Horseshoe Bay-Departure Bay, if extra capacity is needed, use the Cowichan as a secondary. So it will go Langdale-Horseshoe Bay-Departure Bay-Horseshoe Bay-Langdale, and so on...I did not cover this or seasonal vessel exchanges. well if you did this then there would be no need for new vessels in 10-15 years and HSB to DPB even with 3 vessels in summer, it is not enough.

I think the big word here is STANDARDIZATION. BCF wants to cut down the number of vessel classes to help with repairs and training of crews. I would think that the new intermediate boat would be similar in design to the Cumberland Class if this is the case. From what I have heard (mainly from here) it is a pretty good class cept for the RAD units.

They will have to do some in depth problem solving to find out what happened.

I say just replace the RADS with new ones or go a another system altogether rather then RADS
