I like Horseshoe Bay too, it has the nice little town next to it, and it is the most scenic of all. It also just happens to be only a 45 minute bike ride from my house, and I can't forget the beer can tree, that adds character to the place. A fine piece of art indeed!

Tsawwassen because it is the biggest of the major terminals and has great places for ferry watching.

I'm going with Horseshoe Bay as well. Traffic goes right onto the freeway, so no problems with accessability. It's got the best bus service of all the terminals. Even though it doesn't have much inside the terminal, it's got the villiage right next door with all sorts of food available. It's in a beautiful setting. It's got three routes going in and out, and on a busy day, that means between 4-6 different ferries you have a chance of seeing. I also like Horseshoe Bay because, at least from a few places, you can see what's going on (ie. ferries leaving/coming in). I don't like Tsawwassen or Swartz Bay as much because the views aren't so great when you're inside the terminal.
BTW, DAVIDOV, what did you mean by viewing "from the beer can tree"? Can you actually get down there?

The Beer Can tree was made by bored members on the Langdale run. They tie string to a can, toss it over board and whala it's like a Christmas decoartion. It's hard to access, but if you have aboat and go after 23:00 you can get to it. Other times you'd be crushed by the ferries. HSB is my favourite too, why? The Boathouse post-ferry trip meals

...Is this a Trick Question!? Horseshoe Bay is the place to be there are others like for example Snug Cove on Bowen Isle since everything is in Walking distance from the Terminal well if theres a restaurant in or outside the Terminal it all good like at Vesuvius Bay the Captain mentioned to us that there was a restaurant with good fish and chips they were good after taking a ride on the ferry go there for a bite to eat there are more restaurants at Terminals like at Otter Bay, Earls Cove, Tsawwassen, and many more but Horseshoe Bay is the Best with at least 4 ferries a day going in and out every day and restaurants for if theres a sailing wait or you miss the ferry and the next one isn't for over a hour really great place to be the only thing it's missing is a sign for the current conditions like outside of Swartz Bay

Horseshoe Bay is the best! Tsawwassen and Swartz Bay suck for ferry watching a viewing! That's my opinion! Snug Cove is neat too!

Horseshoe Bay is definitely the best place to be. Sitting on the warf is fun watching the ferries go in and out. Then when you're hungry, you have serveral places to go, Trolls if you want a big meal and not in a rush, and say maybe Subway if you want to bring something on the ferry. Also they've finally upgraded the waiting rooms. The seats aren't like seats from a classroom, but the new ones have padding in them, so they can make waiting for a very long 5 or 10 minutes very relaxing...

Tsawwassen isn't bad for viewing...you can go out on the balconies on the foot passenger waiting rooms, there are NICE viewing spots there...you don't even need to pay. Just pay to park...walk up the stairs below the waiting room and you're there.

Dont you have to be getting on ferry to be up in the passenger waiting areas unless are waiting for someone to come off or something?

Nanaimo Harbour, I think that one is good(for me) but it has the funny looking condo's behind it, and then you can see the route 30 ferries from there(very well if u have binoculars), and then you are only a 2 minute walk from the port place mall, and an 8 minute walk to the bastion, and also you can see the route 19 ferry(Quinsam) there. That is my opinion.

I like Swartz Bay. I guess because while it was been built - enlarged, I was in school and we did a few "field" trips there - which was a massive treat to Grade 1 & 2 kids. We also went out on the MV Queen of Sidney from there.
My mother grew up in Roberts Bay - and she used to walk around there before it became a terminal. I also like Horseshoe Bay - it has Character.

Horseshoe Bay has that laid back atmosphere of the North Shore.

You mean the relaxing atmosphere of the north shore, jordan. Ok, I also like Nanaimo Harbour because of the Protection Connection view, and the marina boats view, then you can see the protection and gabriola lights at night.

Dont you have to be getting on ferry to be up in the passenger waiting areas unless are waiting for someone to come off or something? Well...you have to pay to park of course but you can access the rooms right below them, by the lower car ramps. There should be some door(s) down there that leads up to the room. They don't say anything. They collect tickets right before you board the ship on the foot ramp, not in the room.
