As long as you have PROPER Anti-Virus protection, you should not experience any issues... The two computers that I am troubleshooting are both running Norton, which is not the best protection available... As long as you use proper browsing and downloading habits, you should remain for the most part, virus free... It also is a good idea to have a few Anti-Spyware programs installed. Recommended by us at MSN are Ad-Aware, Spybot and Microsoft Anti-Spyware BETA which are all free...

Kids, quit sending me viruses! I had to switch to plain Windows Messenger because my Norton was going crazy with virus warnings for MSN. You kids should collect some pop cans and go buy Norton or McAfee, or ask your parents for it for your birthday.

Oh by the way I have Norton 2005 now since the worm came through we had to replace the current Norton for some reason I think you should replace your norton every 2 years. If I was on we would of put $200.00 down the drain...again Im glad I slep over at a friend's place

I also have Ad-Aware SE Professional, which is now being updated, then I can update Norton Anti-Virus, I think there should be such an Anti-Virus that blocks viruses even on downloads.

I'd Rather Have a PC to some Mac, a Mac just means less PC Games and more stress for me, I like windows and PC, not a Mac.

This virus that is being spread through MSN Messenger is only affecting computers with in-adequate virus protection. If Norton is out of date, it will do nothing at all to protect the computer against new viruses. In that case I suggest downloading McAfee Stinger, which is a free tool, that will only search the computer for viruses... It does not provide real-time protection from them, thus this tool should only be used to remove viruses from infected systems, not as a proper Anti-Virus... vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/I would strongly recommend anyone considering purchasing a new Anti-Virus consider McAfee over Norton. The protection is far superior, the updates are usually out for new viruses before Symantec produces them, and it does not corrupt Winsock files...

Does anyone ever get the popup on the bottom right of their screen on msn that says "A newer version of MSN is available, click here to upgrade". But I have the latest MSN 7 and that popup looks like a virus but I'm not sure whether or not it is, because it doesn't make the little popup that you can click on on the page that shows who's online and everything as well.
