Rode the Queen of Vancouver on the 2:00 PM sailing out of Swartz Bay today. In the forward lounge they had a live performer, a classical guitarist from Saltspring who was very good. Anyone else see any live performances on the ferries.
BTW, we passed the Skeena Queen and Spirit of Vancouver Island leaving Swart Bay, the Queen of Saanich and the Queen of Nanaimo in the Active pass, and the Bowen Queen and Spirit of BC and a Pod of Orcas nearing Tsawwassen.

You're right, I never listen to them anyways. I'm always hanging around outside all the time.

ENR3870, We must have seen the same pod of orcas; I was at my grandparents' place in Point Robberts yesterday and spotted the pod with the telescope coming from around active pass, heading SE. They must have been fishing because we didn't spot them until around 5 or 6pm.

They must have been fishing because we didn't spot them until around 5 or 6pm. It probably was the same pod of orcas. There were several whale-watching boats out around the pod. We even stopped for a minute or two to watch the whales(we were running a little early...)

Do the captains do announcements anymore about the whales and tell the passengers.

Sometimes. i remember one day the Lynx was running like 10 Mins ahead of Schedule, and they call the pax and told them about the Whales in the straight and we went off and looked , but with the Live entertainment, i remember on the coq, there was a Violinist. and then afterwards, i raced her on the Number 1 to about the Second Narrows Bridge.

saw orcas a couple years ago in village bay. they turned the nanny so the whole starboard side was facing them. they were all over the bay and we could not leave without risking the safety of them. also saw the orcas in active pass a couple times last summer

We also saw orcas once a few summer ago when we went down to Anacortes! We were about maybe an hour or so from Anacortes! They slowed right down so we could see them! This was on the Elwha! It is pretty neat to see the Orcas!

" Anyone else see any live performances on the ferries ..." Oh yes! Q of Chilliwack last July. Several bands were going to the Bella Coola Valley Music Festival on our sailing. An official concert began about 7 pm in the forward lounge, but soon degenerated into an all-out jam session. Whoo-hoo! Ferry workers and passengers danced the pattern right off the carpet. French-Canadian, blues and Celtic folkies blew off Chilliwack's deck head. A poor photo:
