wow. i didn't actually beleive it, but there actually is a group of you fans out there. here s something for you to digest then. i work out of hsb on the queen of capilano and our chief tells us he heard they are gonna do to us what they did to the queen of alberni - add a second deck and enclose the main car deck like on the queen of alberni. he said this will take place in a couple of years.

If that's true the Queen of Capilano won't be on Saltrey Bay anymore and she'll have to have her passenger deck streched if this happens or she'll be like the Alberni

Thats cool but please don't screw up like what happened to the alberni. Keep it clean.

Are there ever sailing waits on the Jervis Inlet run?

Plus that would be sweet if they put her on Saltery Bay

I guess in a few years they will need extra capacity up there.

Probably. 85+85= 170 and that sounds like a good capacity for Saltery Bay-Earls Cove

She was built for the route but she had problems when she started so she was moved to Bowen Island

We should just build new ferries no more lifting nonsense.

The lift project is something BCF has been doing since the early 80s it's okay isn't it I mean the last lift we had was the Queen of New Westminster in 1991. So the lifting process should still go plus it would be intresting if they lifted the Capilano but the passenger capacity will have to change slightly by streching the passenger area they should have at least 700 to 900 passenger capacity if this happens

She will end up all cr*py like the queen of alberni. Just make a new ship and put her with the cumberland so we can retire the powell river class ships.

She'll look more like the Red Funnel Ferries www.faktaomfartyg.com/red_falcon_1994_b_4.htmJust the lower car deck will be enclosed and she won't have those ramps like at the end of the upper car deck on the Red Funnel Ferries plus she will not need a big passenger capacity because there isn't really alot of people that go on the Saltery Bay run but the car capacity has to change but the passenger areas have to change a little like the snack bar will have to be turned into a cafeteria and the seating needs to changed into the seating on the Cow and Coq and Oaky and mybe they should take her through a passenger services upgrade

I think it's the nice weather. It's great for ferry riding. I'm considering riding my bike out to Horseshoe Bay, and getting on the ferry to Langdale, hanging in Gibsons, and then riding back to North Van along Marine Drive.

Oh yeah weather like this is great for ferry trips! I hope it is nice next Wednesday as I am taking another day trip to Van to get some more cruise ship photos! I will probably be on the Queen of Vancouver and SOVI!

It will never happen. Why lift the Cap? Doesn't make any sense since they are building a number of new ships. Put the platforms on her like the Cumbie and be happy.

Running the Cumbie and Cap on Southern Gulf route would have the same two ships, once the Bowen Island replacement arrives. Then what will happen to the Bowen and Mayne Queen..... Also while at it use Birth 2 overheadf walkway for boarding onto the Cumbie and Cap

I don't think it's gonna happen. The Capilano's purpose when she was built was Saltery Bay...Which I will be at later this morning so i'll see everyone later tonight

That means Cumbie and Cappie won't be Identical Sisters anymore. I think they need to build another 1 or 2 more of Cumberland Class. If they are going to replace Bowen Mayne and Powell River. I wonder if I could buy the Mill bay ferry, but not use it as a ferry, use it as a house boat to go camping on in the Strait.
