I just got a new old sailboat so I plan to ferry and cruise ship watch all summer. Photos, photos photos.

Nice! At my dad's place on Indian Arm, I have a 21' Maxum, which is a sport boat. We usually stay in Burrard Inlet. When it's Calm we go waterskiing in the morning.

I wonder if I could go over to the Gulf Islands sometime this summer on the Cumbie or Mayne.

You should do it. The Gulf Islands are awesome. At around 4:20PM there is usually a haze of marijuana smoke over the Gulf Islands, it's the thickest around the town of Ganges on Saltspring Island. The hippes there give the Gulf Islands lots of character.
