I have seen the pictures of the old parts stripped off and people standing around waiting for the replacement bit's to turn up. People standing around doing nothing validates it is infact BC Ferries For differnet reasons, I'm shocked how much people make being "on-call," for silly things like the Bowen Island crossing.

As I just posted, under the wrong subject, I've finally uploaded some of the pictures that I took of the Mill Bay just before she went into refit. I wanted to get a record of her before the wheelhouse was "extended". I also got some shots of the lounge below the car deck. If there's demand for it, I'll post some more of the pictures that I got (because of the 240 pic limit on webshots, I would have to delete some pics in other galleries). You can find the pics at: community.webshots.com/album/361122160AFgpJxP.S. The delay in posting these pics, and my absence from this forum lately has been due to a family emergency, so I might not be around that often for a while, and might not get as many new pics on my webshots site as I have in the past.

I wonder what she will look like, nearly the same, except an extended bridge, I have a good lot of photos on my hard drive to make a model of the ol' Mill Bay.

Has anyone seen the BCFS site - stating the parts for the engine have come from England. Given that last year they did the same thing - question are been asked - by the Brentwood pressure group and some members of the crew. The statement given out by BCFS last year - stated that the engine over haul would out last the vessel - so 1 year later - what has happen? How good are these Ship yards ? and therefore why should they get the order to build a ferry when it appears they can't even fix a very low tec - 50 year old ferry?? Of course they are holding a section 69 meeting on the 15th June 2005 in Vancouver - for this route and there was a Times Colonist statement on the 10th June which I notice no one picked up on - Why ??
