John, The website is outdated (not much of the items are left.) We'll have to update it or remove it. I'm going to try and send another pic here. I took this pic today, from the other side of the river to show the outbound side with the Talupus. Cascade,I started a yahoo group and put a few pictures in the files area finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/five25two/Have a look there.

What do you have left (in terms of take home memorabilia)? Any life jackets?

We sold most of the life jackets but probably have about 50 left. Not all have Q of Sydney on them. Assorted names.I'd have to check.

i know before she was sold and while still at berth 1 at tsawwassen some of the engineers aboard another vessel snuck aboard and took a few items off of her for the vessel they are(were) on. i won't name the vessel or the route as there are some bc ferry employees on this board and they may or may not have been involved. as far as i know they were not.

I don't think there would be a problem with that. If they took them for themselves, that would be different.

Yes to all the above question we are interested in buying the Queen of Sidney - if the current owners want to sell her. It appears from - Arthur's Marine site that they are selling off all her kit and making some serious money.
So Bill - sign up as a member on this site and send me an email - via the members link. I have email your site and also faxed it - plus our Vancouver legal people have faxed you a letter - so the ball is in your court - we await with interest.
And NO we are not interested in bringing it to Europe - if fact we are working on having it in Sidney - back to 1960 colours.
Did you know that in June 14th 1960 - the BC flag for the province was first raised on the Queen of Sidney - no where else - by W.A.C Bennett. Some history this old girl has.
Question for you - Why change it's name to "Bad Adventure" - I don't follow your chain of though on this front.

Yes she is, but when it comes to History Vs. Profit, Profit wins everytime.

Harbourlynx Kid you are correct - in that your in business to make money - hence profit.
But a good business person always leaves just enough meat on the bone for the next player. Greed is good - but only to a certain level. Maybe the Arthur's Marine people have had enough to eat ?

How much $ would one of those life jackets go for? (I don't want to waste my time if it's out of my range)

We had been easily getting $15.00 each for them, but we only have about 30 or so left.I checked and the names on them are interestingly enough " Princess Marguette" and "Queen of New Westminster".

Yes, the brass bell was "borrowed " early on, before we had security.
Did ya all hear, Philip Spaulding, designer of the Queen of Sidney (among many others including the Tsawwassen and WST Coho) died today? There is a write up about him in the Vancouver Sun today. B6
