I, personally, like Horseshoe Bay best for several reasons: went there before any other terminals, mountainous, favourite ferries, beautiful coastline (Howe Sound), lots of ferries coming in, marina and town.

Yeah I also love Horseshoe Bay for exactly all the same reasons as you mentioned. It's neat especially if you just want to do a little roundtrip, you can actually get off the ferries and wonder around town or even take another little ferry trip to Bowen Island or Langdale.

I like Departure Bay. especially on a nice summer day. watching sea planes coming and going, and the views of newcastle Island and Jesse Island. It's a very nice bay.

I like tswwassen, busiedt ferry terminal in the fleet, always a ship in port. This terminal serves 8-9 ships in the summer.

I definitely agree, Tsawwassen terminal is my favorite terminal also. It's busy all the time, giving it a certain vibrance and making it great for ferry watching (although you must either have a ticket or sneak in to get the best views). Another reason for Tsawwassen being my favorite is it's unique design, it's own little island and all. Although I might be biased, for I've lived a stone's throw away from it for many years. ;D

Hmm toss up for me. Either Horseshoe Bay or Tsawwassen. I've been stuck at both for sailing waits about the same amount of times. Tsawwassen can be fun in the summer for like an hour but that's it because those little stores get boring to walk around, but Horseshoe Bay has a village and restaurants and there's lots of traffic there so it stays interesting. So I think I'll go with Horseshoe Bay.

Horseshoe Bay is my favourite. I like the town and the scenery, and if you're waiting for a long time, you can just head over to Trolls.

I must be getting to old - but I like the small ones. Short hop's across to some of the smaller islands. A lot more interesting - just to be able to walk around - and not be sold something. So there's not WC - no coffee outlets - NO food - but then there is the beauty of the area to look at - UNLESS it is raining or even snowing....

I like:
- Duke Point.....yes I know that sounds strange! Maybe because it's new, has a nice view of Gabriola, and is peacefully away from the City.
- Long Harbour on Salt Spring. A nice spot on a nice island. The rich subdivision on the point (that you access by driving thru the ferry terminal) has some fancy houses and lots of deer.
- Bear Cove at Port Hardy: only because it means that an adventure is about to start.
- Campbell River terminal, to go to Quadra: nice view of Discovery Passage. You can park and go to Duke's restaurant next door. Best of all: the peaceful, easy feeling that you get on Quadra Island starts to take over your being, once you are in the ferry line-up at Campbell River. You just can't help feeling laid-back, as you wait in line, and count the VW Vans & other hippie vehicles.

Do any of you remember the group "The Guess Who" - well they claim to have written two of there best songs while wating for a BC Ferry at one of the terminals - can anyone "guess" which one - that inspired them to write the song's and which two song's?? (It was going from the mainland to the Island to play in a gig)
(I'll dig out the details and post on Tursday the answer)

Your close - It was These Eyes & Undun - written according to the Bio on the Greatest Hit's CD - while waiting for the ferry at Tsawwassen - to play a gig in Victoria - it was the spring of 1969.
I am sure you get the next bit of unless info - who from the Group lives on Salt Spring Island and was one of two writers of these songs?
It also said they compose the songs in a VW camper Van.....

Kyle, you win the free prize - a trip on the "Speed 1" www.speedferries.com trip to France - must be taken in the next 36 hours. The correct answer is Randy Bachman - who lives on Salt Spring Island.

yup along with andrea collins who is phil collins ex-wife. rumour has it that robin williams has a place there, has not been confirmed but he has been seen on the island. bill henderson from the band chilliwack lives down the beach from my family's property, actually in my mom's aunt and uncles old house. there are many celebrity sightings each year on this little island. i have seen celebs and have heard from people about sightings over the last few years.

Funny old small world isn't it Kyle,
The Band Chilliwack - I had there LP - I think it was the second one I bought - if I remember they only had one hit song / single. Brave Belt actually played at our school in Port Alberni - front runner to BTO - ex Guess Who (I can't remember if they were that good or not)
Phil Collins use to live down the road from me - here in West London - and I see Robbie Williams around a lot. Phil Collins son - plays drum in a local Pub group - when over from Canada.
There is a lot of filming done in BC - so does BCF have a film department ? to help out - for TV - Film work? That should be a good little earner and free PR if the film does well.

My favourite Terminal would be Nanaimo Harbour, you can watch the floatplanes taking off and the huge cargo ships (Baron and Knight go out and the Seaspan truck carring vessels) plus I like the Quinsam Vessel that goes out, also you can see the Protection Island ferry go out too.
