Yeah, but isn't there a shuttle bus? And BC Transit offers service that takes 8 minutes to get from Nanaimo Harbour to Departure Bay. So you would be referring to the people who hate taking transit?

Yeah, any of the four majors. Also, Foxy: There is in fact a tour happening in Horseshoe Bay next Sunday. I can't go, though. Queen of Coquitlam, Route 3 (HSB-Langdale) Or we could schedule another one for the Southern Gulf, or Route 1. How 'bout the Saanich or the SoBC, or the Queens of Nanaimo and Cumberland? Other proposals?

For planning your upcoming tours, there are a few dates to note if you're concerned about missing or catching a ship before a shuffle:
The SOVI is still, according to RBI, supposed to be back in on the 28th (although this is doubtful if they still want to dry-dock her). This means that the cramped Saanich will go from replacing the SOVI as #1 out of SB to #2 (extra sailings) out of SB.
On the 18th of next month (I had it written down as originally being scheduled for monday... that's quite a delay), The Queen of Oak Bay is out for refit, the Cowichan takes her place, and the Alberni takes the Cowichan's place. According to RBI, the Queen of Esquimalt replaces the Alberni out of Duke Point on route 30.

So you would be referring to the people who hate taking transit? This reminds me of something that I've been been thinking about recently: There hasn't been a lot of distinquishment between people who don't *like* to take the bus, and people who don't *know how* to take the bus (as in not knowing the routes, times, where to get the bus, etc.). If you are a part of the second group (anywhere in B.C.), feel free to ask me. If I don't know your answer, I will find out for you. Why do I offer this? It's the best way that I can promote public gound transportation use (you guy's are already holding down the nautical side of things, now we just need to ballance the two). Cheers, -GJ-

I have a map of every transit service in the lower mainland. I LOVE TAKING TRANSIT!!! I have no idea why, I just find it fun sometimes to get out and ride the Skytrain or SeaBus or something.
I know a guy who works for Coast Mountain. If I have Transit-related questions, in terms of service and such (not schedules, I can find that out online) I go to him.

The Queen of Saanich wont go to #2 out of SB as she has to replace the SOVI if the SOVI is still out of service after the 28th. I dont get what you said in your post Tsawwassen Terminal.

I'm assuming that you're talking about this post: The SOVI is still, according to RBI, supposed to be back in on the 28th (although this is doubtful if they still want to dry-dock her). This means that the cramped Saanich will go from replacing the SOVI as #1 out of SB to #2 (extra sailings) out of SB. According to RBI, the Queen of Esquimalt replaces the Alberni out of Duke Point on route 30. I actually meant that the SOVI is back in on the 29th, which, according to BCFerries' own RBI site, is still supposed to happen. Although I don't know what their plans are, they could be saving the SOVI's dry-docking for another time for all I know, I do know their history, and don't expect that the SOVI will be back on the 29th; when I talk about timing, I'm just going by the horse's mouth.

lol, and you were saying that it was still packed... What did I tell you, it's all to do with PR; they can say "hey look at how good we are, look at all these extra sailings we added!", when it was in the plans the whole time... atleast if it wasn't in the plans, it wouldn't be good business sense.

Well I'm going to Vancouver so I will be able to go on tours. I have been planning a tour on Sunday with Chris and Jordan on the Queen of Coquitlam while I'm on my way home. I'm also going on the Albion ferries and the Barnston Island ferry one day this week while I'm there. Anyone is welcome to join me.

Well I don't know for sure if I can do this, but seeming I've been keeping in contact with one of the Captains of the Queen of Coquitlam for my work experience (begins next month), maybe, just maybe, I could arrange for her to give us a tour of the Ferry. That is, if she's working that day. But I don't even know if I'm working that day, and so far I've been working all of Spring Break.
