What type of ferry do you think the new minor vessels will look similar to?

I'd say totally Newer Designs like a modern Queen of Sidney and Tsawwassen carrying 140 cars each or a more modern Bowen, Mayne, and Powell River Queen carrying 90 cars and even some new K Class carrying 40 cars and Nimpkish ships carrying 30 cars or just use the Tenaka design only more modern for that then some Tachek and QQII and Tenaka carrying 40 Cars and...thats it. thats alot don't you think just copy the old designs and bring in the new ships

I would be willing to bet that all the replacement vessels for the minors are replaced with double-ended ferries. And I would assume pretty much the entire fleet will consist of them in 15 years, except the Spirits and the northern vessels.

Nearly all the minors already are double enders Doug, the only exceptions are the Mill Bay and the Tachek and QQ2 and NIP

Missing a few.....
Tenaka and Nimpkish. But if you're counting them all, there's still the Nicola and Garibaldi II, but who's counting, but eh!

Nimpkish is Double ended, do not forget that little cab on the back! umm, no it's not. I think totally newer designs, because then they would be more aerodinamic and go faster in more open spaces of the Gulf Islands and such. Also, they would look better. And carry more people at one time.

That's just for docking, and they don't use that as it's underway because there isn't propellars on both the bow and stern. Plus it doesn't have the hull design anyway.

Yeah they just use that for docking. It isent an actual wheelhouse there for it aint double ended. Double ended is like Bowen or Mayne Queens, Quinsam, ect...

I thought Double ended was a ship that had two control areas.

Two proper bridges, and a Propellar on each end of the ship.

Or one bridge in the middle with propellors on both ends of the ship, and the bridge has windows surrounding the captain bridge. (Quinsam, Quinitsa, Howe Sound Queen, Klitsa, Kwuna, Kahloke, Kullet, Klatawa. and also Bowen, Mayne. Powell River Queens)

What have I been missing!! the reason she probably has the mini cab at the back is because she's a catamaran and she doesn't have proper steering if she was mono hulled she would have a thruster and side engines but she doesn't so thats the case you see

i think that a design like the osprey 2000 would work best. because they can be slices if they need a larger boat. and they can all have standard engine parts and standard controls. which means they would have lots of spare parts if they were to ever need them
they could even put a large pax area on them and make them easy to use for the larger Route 1 Runs.

I like the last one...kind of resembles the Alberni in her original configuration.

Yeah it does the top one looks like one side has nothing and the other has the sitting area and the 3rd one looks like the current Skeena with another side passenger deck and 2 bridges and some open space

The fourth one resembles the Queen of Alberni before lifting.

The forth one looks very much like the ship (+25 meters) they plan to build for the Earl’s Cove-Saltery Bay route (with two more likely being build for the Bowen Island and Furford-Swartz Bay route.). Cosmic Ray
