The third one looks like the Osprey 2000, except longer.

The ones I like are the 2nd and last ones that are like the PRQ. I think that would of been a neat design to go with just like the Cumbie and Cap!

I should suspect many new designs. Some similar to the Quinsam and Skeena Queen. And some totally new ones, like the one scheduled for construction for Earls Cove-Saltery Bay.

Yeah some barge-like ships would do for the 3 busy islands and the Southern Gulf Islands and enclosed vessels for the southern routes out of Tsawwassen and some new enclosed ferries for the Powell River Routes that go out of Westview or maybe a ferry for the Texada route like this one only smaller www.faktaomfartyg.com/basto_I_1997_b_2.htm and If this new intermidiate vessel goes to Saltery Bay it should be as fast as effinciently possible.

That's a nice looking unit! If it does go on Earls Cove-Saltery Bay, it will serve well. I don't think it could do Discovery Coast, though. Do we have capacities for this vessel?

Here are some screenshots I took from the video Karl lent me on the building of the Skeena Queen. These were the designs they considered at the time. The second one looks like a nod to the PR Class The fourth one looks like it's pandering to an older generation; notice the lack of the now-standard single pilot house. Reminds me of The BC "Liberals" actually putting rapid transit in their conceptual drawings of the twined Port Mann bridge: pandering.

I hope to have that video, and the rest of Karls videos done before the end of Spring Break. Then Ièll be looking into making a DVD possible which would most likely be mixed in with some of my videos. Also, at the moment Ièm at my Grandparents house in Langley at the moment, and my Grandad used to film all of the time back in the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s, so Ièll be looking for some more footage of the Ferries. My Grandad was also the one that got the footage for the video I posted a few months ago while riding the Queen of Victoria from Tsawwassen to Swartz Bay in 1970. Hopefully he has some more jewels for us to see for those of us who werenèt around back then!
